After a well-earned break post the release of his debut album, Weather The Storm, legendary MC, Visionobi is back, this team teaming up with UK and Belgium based duo OZOH. This international producer pairing bring experience from their previous releases on Delta 9 and Flexout. Being based in UK and Belgium, certainly does not prevent OZOH from bring the heat once again, enabling Visionobi to deliver the goods.
‘Oculus’ lurches into life with a sparse but suggestive bass laden intro. Visionobi’s familiar wordplay comes to the fore very early and serves as a stark reminder of the work that goes into his bars. The drop brings more variation to the bassline and warped guttural tones to flank the minimalist but well-crafted drums. The half time sections throughout the track give more space for production to shine through and provides a strong platform for Visionobi to showcase his visionary writing and expansive vocabulary.
Don’t be a bozo, let Visionobi and Ozoh invade your consciousness and look into your soul with the first track from his forthcoming EP, out before the end of 2024. Oculus is out in all good stores on Friday 6th September.
