The rotgoons jokes a lot about being the bad guys, but honestly, out of all the groups they seems to be the ones who are the most "normal" people. The rotgrind crew are led towards a goal by something greater than them, the mercenary crew has shown quite a dose of pragmatic villainy, but the rotgoons are... only concerned with earning their life. And in a city that is filled to the brim with dangers they haven't done jobs or acts that really crosses the moral horizon. They are in it for the money, but they are not doing anything remotly too shady, they help peoples to do business, they get paid, and if it does not land them in hot water or lose time, they are okay with helping out for a second. They get attacked, they defend themselves, they are in a dangerous situation, they are thinking about getting out alive. They are concerned about their close relatives, their employers, and their own little group first. Out of all the groups, they are probably the most neutral characters and I find it really endearing that they are evolving in their own little world in the grand scheme of things.

Fun fact: "Jezail" is pronounced "Jeh-Zai-Eel" as they are actually a historical firearm from the middle east! Theres a LOT of history with them in areas like Afghanistan. They were traditionally very ornate and LONG (think 7ft-8ft), they were also quite accurate!

I loved the psychological horror and mind screw aspect of this session 😨I would have folded, but the execution was amazing; and those visions are such a great tool for advancing character development, giving glimpse into layers that these PCs have 🤩Of course, it also would not be a Goons session without some funnies and they delivered as well. For the algorithm!

Fun fact, in my second Dnd game, I was a charisma based mage with a familiar ferret. I have no experience in this game but there is like a boss Lizard taur fighting another boss. In an act of diplomacy I shout at it asking if I can help. The rest of the party bails on me and killing the other large creature it walks over intimidating me for daring to offer help. It then impales me and kills me. So they bring be back, because, party isnt going to pay to bring me back. The lizardmen ate my familiar. In his game if you die, you lose a level. And if you lose a familiar, you lose one stat in your casting trait. So now I am permanently 1 level lower than everyone (Spoiler, he killed me often, at session 10 I was 3 levels behind) and I lost a full +1 to my stats for casting. I hated it.
