• Bushcraft Waterwheel P...
This is something i wanted to do for a while ever since i prepared to go out on History Channels Alone show. This bushcraft waterwheel is going to be a power head for a few of my ideas to come to life. The first on bing A rotary chicken. But you will have to tune in to part 2 for that one. I also want to make it into a phone charger and a waterwheel powered fire starter in some flowing videos. Of corse that all depends on how long the water keeps running in the Stream or since the water wheel is so light i could take it somewhere Else and use it there as the some drought sets in.

I just watched a video from Bob Hansler about bacon wrapped rattlesnake, now I finished watching your bacon wrapped frog legs video. I have the bacon, but don't have frog or snake. I have some Elk, so I'll have to wrap that in bacon. Obviously, you can wrap nearly anything in bacon, and it'll come out sublime. Keep up the great vids!

Frogs legs are serious camping/survival food. Famed outdoors man, George Washington Sears ('Nessmuk') admitted more than once in print that he liked frog legs, almost better than trout. He caught them with a simple pole and line, with a bit of red flannel cloth as bait, to mimic a natural fly. When a bullfrog 'tuned up', he presented the bait with very steady results. Nessmuk rolled the legs in flour and cornmeal and fried them up in lard--much more of a staple of camp life then than now, alas. I have eaten and enjoyed meaty frogs legs in French restaurants in the New York State and in France. They came with a butter, garlic and white wine sauce. So...from the rural wilderness to the tables of the rich and famous, frogs legs have an appreciative base of diners.

No better Comfort than sleeping in a hammock in the woods but for better comfort in flatness a lightweight foam crash pad in the bottom of it will help flatten it out and still give you the comfort and keep your butt insulated a little better

Fowler's Makery and Mischief along with a good heavy duty hammock 400 lb better weight capacity they just last longer get one of the heavy duty emergency sleeping bags it's not the mylar but it's the cloth combination mylar stuff they're just heavier-duty you poke a hole in the toe of the emergency sleeping bag put that at the toe of the hammock and then you can pull the whole thing up and over you when you're in it and it will eliminate a lot of the under draft and stuff like that and give you a warm shell above you as well in the crash pad under your body will help flatten the hammock o and even keep you warmer underneath

by far my fav video to come back to, I have been away turkey hunting for like 28 days now and happy to catch up on your videos. A tip for knowing when the eggs are well done, if you spin them on a flat surface it will spin, if it has a wobble then its raw or under cooked. Great work man, keep at it.

Fowler's Makery and Mischief I grew up near there. They use to really run around early may but you could get some stragglers probably. Kevin sent me here, and I have to say I'm pretty happy he did. I often don't subscribe to larger survival channels because they often seem a little full of themselves. You seem very natural and it makes me want to go out and get me some frog legs and work on my slingshot skills. As I mentioned to Kevin, I keep saying I'm going to start hunting with my slingshot, but never do. Maybe this will be the year.

A much easier way to catch frogs is to rig a bass rig with a (white preferably) floating plastic worm. Then you slowly drag it over the surface of the pond, (keeping a low profile on the bank) and the frogs will come to the worm from all around. Let one push the worm into its mouth and then hook it and drag it in. You can catch some huge frogs this way, as they will beat out the smaller frogs and bully their way to that worm.

Right on 👍 I love frog legs. I've got the black edition haversack from Hidden Woodsman and really like it. Malcolms story about worms might explain why I'm always hungry and drag my butt on the carpet.😅 Good times and I'm really enjoying my slingshot. Thanks again

I think it would be great if some company gave you that set of hammock with bug net, under quilt that matches, then you go camping for a weekend with the guys and get a babysitter. Then let us all know what you think about it vs the ground or a cot. Maybe try 3 days in the woods with 10 items each including food. You can share your items as you could all be altogether and one boat to drop you all off and pick you up.

I don't know if you knew but there's a lot more meat on a frog than just the legs. You can eat most of the frog if not all of it obviously not the guts and stuff.

Hey Zack. Enjoy your vids. Gotta ask. Regarding "Alone" series. Why is it that no one is ever shown digging clams at low tide. Vancouver island has clams everywhere in the tidal flats. Huge Gaper clams, Gooeyducks, Cockles etc. It drove me mad watching you guys appear to be starving for weeks at a time when there are more clams right out in front of your camps than you could shake a stick at. I saw one contestant walk out at low tide and a clam squirted up and he just kept walking and starving. I'm guessing that maybe you did gather clams but it was not shown on TV. What is the real clamming story. Every season the same thing. No clam digging. Was it not allowed to gather clams because no one would have gone hungry collecting a hundred clams in a couple hours?? Would appreciate your take on this. Thanks for the great vids.
