I think joining a glass club in your area is a great idea, you will meet likeminded people that love and appreciate collecting and you will learn so much. At 20:24, the crystals hanging are called a bobeche. Usually they sit separately on top of the candlesticks.

If you ever see a cake stand with a well or dimple in the center, it is called a ‘rum well’. A place to put a small amount of brandy, rum, or liqueur to moisten the cake or infuse it with that flavor. Cheers!

At 16:11, that is called "Mary Gregory glass" there are many reproductions but it is named after an American artist who worked for the Boston Sandwich company in the 1880s. Not from Checkoslovakia.

I used to have wooden molds for butter and yes they were round and had flower carving at the bottom of them

Oh my gosh they sound so beautiful!! I just tried making homemade butter for Christmas dinner and was thinking how fun would it be to have a mold for it. I will be on the lookout for something like that next time I'm out antiquing! Did you ever use them to make shaped butter?

Butter was made in a wrapped bowl after you made it from milk. They didn't sell it in sticks until later when larger stores came into being.

That makes sense! I've seen modern butter bells but those are the only round butter dishes I've seen made past the 50s or so. Thank you for the information, I've been really curious about that for a long time now.

The catolog would only show what was available at that time, your pieces may have been made later, on the Caribbean. If they are the small handled bowl, they may not be Caribbean.

That makes sense, thank you! I believe they made Carribean up to 1955 when the factory closed so there may be some other pieces out there. The bowls I have have scroll-like handles so I think youre right and they aren't part of the pattern

See that's what I was wondering too. I doubt the average person could afford something like that, at least I certainly cant😂 it was so cool to go and see it. Almost like a museum lol you can look but can't take it home with you. I completely agree with you and love finding a good deal at an antique store, it's so rewarding and satisfying!

Almond dishes were for candied almonds, not raw almonds, sometimes called Jordan almonds.

Are they those pastel colored ones? I think I've seen them before. If I get my hands on a set of almond dishes I am 100% repurposing them for jelly beans😂

My great great grandmother had 21 childern so yes big table im betting alot of husbands custom made tables for there large familys in the 1800s my parents would use a big sheet of plywood to extend are table at Christmas and other hollidays

Haha thank you for the comment and the info! They do look a little like dumbbells though with how large they are! I have a set of thinner knife rests, but calling them dumbbells is a running joke I have with my dad😂😂
