Visit Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse with author David Gendell

Take a virtual tour of the 1875 screwpile lighthouse on the Thomas Point Shoal, near Annapolis, Maryland, with David Gendell, author of "Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse: A Chesapeake Bay Icon" (published October 2020, the History Press). During the visit, Gendell describes the process behind writing the book, he tells a few stories of the lighthouse, and he meets one of the volunteers who work to keep the historic structure preserved.

I can't wait to read this work. A VG promotion, excellent filming---(slight fish-eye effect in some shots is 'way cool), beautifully-composed shots. Thank you for not going with blinding fast one-second zippy shots---(I find these tacky and tiring, zip-zip-zip...), Always happy to see a new TP2TV pop up, always high-quality work and fascinating.

Hey thank you! Those fish eye shits were actually filmed with a 360 camera and exported in regular 180, but that gave me full control of what the audience would see and in what way. It also provided beautifully stable footage for the walking/climbing. -Ashley Love

You should tell the story of the lightkeeper who chased a crewman around the light with a fire axe. It happened around July or August of 1776. John Willie White was replaced by Claffee E Mayo who was the First Class Boatswain Mate in charge at the time. Check the log books.
