Nostalgia overload. After it closed the airfield was utilised for stage rallies in which I participated in the mid '90s. Miles of quality tarmac and grass tracks. At the time it couldn't be beaten as a venue. Sadly all gone.

First came here as a kid on the bus route to Lincoln - Spit at the gates. Then as a cadet when it was operational. Cold war Lightnings flying over the house on a regular basis in 60s/70s. Worked here in the early 90's in what was the armoury. You could see then it was going to die a long and painful death back then. A crying shame that a piece of history has been ignored.

Fantastic video, remember seeing the diamond nine fly past over Cranwell, this was my first tour in Ground Radio, and to this day never seen anything like it since. Not to sure about the Top gun music though? Sad to see this and so many other sites that have so much history just going to rack and ruin.

RIP RAF Binbrook. I can't say that I had a great time while stationed here but the camp did not deserve an end like this - it was our home that people subsequently smashed up.

Very sad, I was never based there in my RAF career but I did visit Binbrook a few times while serving, it was a loud bustling place!! I can bearley recognise the place, just the hangars, it's virtually all gone.... 😒

Was stationed at Binbrook 84-85. Didn't recognise where this was. Are you sure it is/was Binbrook? Why the poster showing Coningsby Guardroom?

Stationed there in 1958 (Canberras). Sad to see it in such a poor state. Went back last year for a trip down memory lane. Wish I hadn't bothered/

Nooooo..... how tragic. I bet this place is haunting to be at. I hate deserted airfields. To me, they feel "wrong"....
