Have you ever been to Paris? She could just as easily talk about it's pretty piss poor roads and sidewalks, buildings that are 100+ years old but cannot be renovated because of city law and a definite lack of new construction.

@@Gilgamesh417 You obviously know nothing about the city laws on restauration, Gilgamesh. Since the "Loi Malraux", Paris is one of the cities in the world where buildings must be restored periodically 🙂 The problem of the dirty pavement is another thing : I agree that more could be done. By the way, don't expect that, right in the middle of the 7th arrondissement, filled with 17th and 18th centuries building and one of the most expensive areas in Paris where the shop is any new building will be built. Again, you obviously know nothing of Paris, worst of all if you have already been there. You understood nothing. The lack of new buildings is around Paris, not in the historical center. You are once again this kind of people who can't help writing his opinion on anything, persuaded you are telling the truth. An opinion is not a truth, Gilgamesh. it is not even a fact 🙂

Non, pas nécessairement. Certains fromages supportent très mal le froid. Il faut les garder à température fraîche, généralement, mais pas aussi froide qu'un réfrigérateur.

I went in 2016 and I commented on this video before and thought I would reserve any negative comments until I had lots of time to mull it over. The younger man helped me as best he could but Ms. Barthelemy and the other lady there just turned their noses up at me. Ms. Barthelemy was too busy reading a paper to even look up and acknowledge me despite her staff not being in the front of the store at that time. The other lady could not speak any English but I did attempt to speak French and I had a smart phone with an app that translated everything perfectly. I spoke in and it translated me and the man spoke in and it translated him. The poor young man was run off of his feet. A lady with a baby came in and Ms. Barthelemy got off of her stool and her other lady worker coo'd at the baby and other clients also were not helped and the poor fellow had to help everyone. The cheese that I purchased was good, but looking back more objectively, I wouldn't go there again because of the snotty French attitude by the women. I was planning to buy at least a dozen cheeses as I was going to take many home, but I only purchased three because I use $$ to get the message across. On my travels back home I purchased cheese from the Netherlands and brought that home instead.

How can you keep all the cheese on shelves without refrigeration? Nothing is wrapped and everyone's germs can get on the cheese. Looks amazing though and I'm sure we'll worth a visit or more...

Cheese can't stand low temperatures. The atmosphère has to be fresh, but not cold. That is Mme Barthélemy wears a winter jumper and a coat : it is quite cool inside. The cheese are unpasteurized, so that the flavours go on developing.

I am French. EU is not negative for France, on the contrary ! UK left the EU and since, it is a catastrophe. EU has nothing to do with what you call "westernized" 🙂 Don't worry about that 🙂 You see : cheese are still unpasteurized, and French women can still be topless on public beaches 🙂 EU doesn't change our way of life 🙂 And when it changes it, it is generally for better things (some are more questionnable, but it is democracy, so we just have to deal with it, and things can be changed). So we are quite ok 🙂
