The next stop on my adventure on Husqvarna Norden 901 was Canberra - the capital city of Australia, where I caught up with the local adv riders. So this episode includes a little tour around town, beers at the pub and a social ride to Tumut.

Tumut is a fantastic place, I lived there for a few years for start-up of the Visy Pulp and Paper Mill. I imagine you travelled from Canberra to Tumut via Wee Jasper, there is a hotel at Wee Jasper way out in the forest in the middle of nowhere. Many many Canadians worked for Visy and lived in Tumut at that time on a 5 year contract.

We often used Macdonald's or Tim Horton's for a rally point for rides. Once you're together, you can generally keep it together to the destination. Capital cities are a fast way to get to know a country - especially museums.

Great ride Kinga! I was excited to see the various motorcycles in this group also the diverse owners that ride them. Seems you are the only female. I couldn't help but think about the costs involved in all those adventure bikes, helmets and riding clothes! Must come to a terrific sum. On the other hand a single nice sports car could cost more than all these bikes and gear put together. So live and let live.... right?! I look forward to your next adventure. You'll find ,most folk who have expensive bikes here in Australia ,are middle aged ,they have probably raised their kids ,paid for their homes ,and finally have some spare money for nice bikes ,we have younger riders too in our groups here in NSW ,but generally they ride ,older bikes.

I have to admit that I never really focused my attention on camberra, but it seems to be a nice place with friendly people. Canberra a park masquerading as a capital city! When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's my dad would drive taxis at night for Yellow Cab. He would drive by the USSR embassy and lay on the horn right around midnight. I've seen Soviets drive by the house in their diplomatic plated Audis trying to figure out what that American family was doing living in OZ.

Canberra has lots of great galleries and museums ,definitely worth a couple of days ,visit if you have time. The best in my opinion is the National war memorial.

Manchesmal denke ich, bei KZbin gibt es nur unfähige Programmierer, (die Lehrlinge der Lehrlinge). Die schaffen es nicht nach der verf... ten Werbung die eingestellte Sprache wieder herzustellen. Auch ist das Programm alle paar Tage unterschiedlich in der Bedienung. Ich vermute mal, der Service ist kostenlos, sonst kann man soviel Unfähigkeit nicht erklären.

Many think that. It happens quite a lot around the world ,I Always thought the capital of Tanzania was , Dar es Salaam ,but when I visited I found it to be Dodoma. So it's not necessarily the biggest ,busiest place.
