You definitely can pump petrol and not have to hold the pump, I think I spotted the little clip on the handle that you have to push in after you are manually pumping, then you can let go of the handle and it will continue pumping. This is probably too late to be helpful to you, but I have just found your videos and have been enjoying them. I heard it helps your channel if you get comments, so I thought I would comment, good luck with your travels.
