Interesting video. I'm 68 and this was an annual stop 55-60 years ago for us kids. Mom and dad would take us down to the "Ghost Town". Then, it wasn't restored like it is now. We picked up some pieces of slag and found some pig iron in front of the base of one of the furnaces. Dad caught a bass and we caught a few perch off of the pilings (there were still planks of wharf decking then) and we had a fish fry back at the cabin we rented every year. Last time I was there was 1979 when I took my new bride there. Y'all missed the Big Spring (not far from Fayette), Tahquamenon Falls, the Pictured Rocks (up near Munising). We're headed up there next year for a meeting in Marquette, so we'll revisit places of my childhood memories, and visit new places then head west and south back to Texas. Go back and check the places I mentioned above and enjoy. You'll be glad you did. Oh, yes. Don't forget to get some Pasties while there. They are wonderful and delicious!

We definitely plan to return to the UP so we can visit more places.. We looked into a few of those you mentioned but decided to go to Fayette first. It was a choice! It's always fun to revisit places and reminisce on the memories

Very nice video folks. I lived in the UP 3 years going to university in Marquette and have never been to this park. Could not tell if this is a trio now or earlier in the autumn. As there wasn’t snow and temps in the 40s, thinking you traveled a bit earlier this fall and just now able to post. Obviously cell service there was too weak to upload video. Well done friends. Nice to see you again. I love the UP, but really, only during the warmer months! 😁
@WanderingWagners3 жыл бұрын
This was recorded just before Thanksgiving. We were actually hoping for snow but surprisingly there wasn't any until we got down south in Michigan and it was a dusting. The temp was pretty surprising because it was colder in Iowa haha oh well I know that's not the case now!😜 It was a pretty interesting park and I'm glad we finally got up there to check some of it out!

I live in the town of Negaunee in the UP . They built that town to proses the iron ore they mined . Because they mined the ore out under the town. They had to move the houses out of that area. You can walk around that part of town and see the old foundations and streets. Cleaveland cliffs iron company has been mining ore and making it possible for people to live in the UP for over a 175 years.

It's basically a completely different vehicle vs stock. Some of the videos where we just got the Wraith will prove just how much it's improved now! If only we could have got LS from the get go!
