Visiting Glasgow's Police Boxes

If you go into the graveyard near the second box you have shown, there is a very large Statue of an Angel that looks horrifically like a genuine Weeping Angel. The resemblence is uncanny!

There are at least 3 more boxes I walk past every week. A blue one on Buchanan street. And a red one as well as a blue one on Sauchiehall street

Have you ever been to the Crich Tramway Village in the Peak District? They have a Police Box there and you can actually open the little door and pick up the phone. I was there last year and I took some photos and footage, which of course I uploaded onto KZbin. Oh wow, a green Police Box? I wonder if someone had been watching the Seventh Doctor serial "The Happiness Patrol" where the TARDIS gets painted pink.

Yes but a long time ago before I had any kind of video camera, also as a non driver I doubt I'll ever be able to visit it again.

I actually never watched Dr Who and don't get any references. I just like the old fashioned boxes there used to be fire boxes for the public to use that would alert the fire station directly where they would see on a map which alarm box was pulled.

Yeah, the only police box that the tardis is based on that still exists is in the National Tramway Museum in Derbyshire.

Can I ask if its known why they have survived still when vertually all of the others have been destroyed? The only one I know of on my door step (I live in York) is at Scarborough front just off the main beach 🏖

Being as old as they are I’m sure they have to repaint them from time to time (pun intended) anyway so I’m sure that was just a temporary thing to advertise something, it’s probably back to blue now as this was a few years ago
