Cat! Thank you for showing us these, particularly now most of the flowers shown are over and the memory of these fireworks of colours has got dulled. I'm immensely glad that wildflower meadows are currently in vogue, though I do wish people with great swathes of land would also shift their composts/manure heaps now and then and grow nettles in the damp acidified corners, so many of our native butterflies and moths love them above all else.

You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed. Absolutely, it's all good and well having the beautiful meadows, but you also need the more insignificant ( in some folks eyes) weeds as they are as important, if not more so for the caterpillars. Great Dixter did have the wild untouched areas with nettles too though in this instance I'm pleassed to say. 🙂

Washington state has a Dungeness with a large spit that creates a somewhat protected rocky beach & shoreline. It is also a rather barren Nature Preserve😊.

I live in Montreal Canada. Pardon my ignorance but where are the trees ? too much wind perhaps. I enjoy your site, thank you.

It's mainly a shingle beach and behind is marshland so probably why there are no trees? Although it looks barren and deserted , the area is one of the best places for many rare insects in Britain. It's a special protected site and is much larger than I show on the film. Glad you enjoy, thanks for watching.
