Thank you for your great hospitality! The day after we left, we were already missing Walnut Creek and wanting to visit again. We are dreaming of visiting Walnut Creek again with the Blue Lug crew, which we were not able to visit this time.

Why not work with MicroShift? They seem like a good business that is concentrating on mechanical derailleurs.

lol! you where just spied This is exactly how they do it. They play on Americans egos. they will find that derailer and be making it for the very bikes that you just showed them. I used to be the VP of A major boat manufacture and i told them over over no pictures and no tape measures. They would leave our booth and hours later i would see A flash from under Aa boat. Sure enough I would find two legs sticking out from under the boat. never told them to get out. just grabbed there feet and pulled them right out from under our boats and out of our booth inti the hull way. Then i told them to go down to our dock and go for A ride if they really wanted to see our boats. We had A speed boat we made for A James bond movie. if you turned it at the right time in its wake it would soak the passenger. So i always called down to our professional boat racer driver and let him know we had a couple cameras coming down that needed washed. lol! they where thrown out of out booth 3 times. i have also been to Japan to A few companies. no cameras and R and D rooms locked. your little shops pictures where back in Japan with in ours of them leaving.

Letting Grant talk…..priceless. Safe, useful, comfortable, pretty, colorful: what a bike should be.

Glad you enjoyed your trip to Rivendell. I vividly recall my trip (pilgrimage?) there a few years ago; Will and Vince and Grant were gracious and willing to show me around the shop. Thanks for posting this!

Probably one of the deepest dives into Riv I've seen in video form! Really nice being able to see more of the shop and the people that make it great, especially as an east coaster. Hope to visit one day soon! Thanks Blue Lug!

This is so good and I love how Grant has a vision that I personally is dead on in regards how bicycles are becoming like new cars, can't work on them anymore and everything is becoming like a video game which is not what I like. This is an amazing video but I am glad I was not there as I would had asked of spent the nigh to see all those beauties...frames, colors, set ups....just freaking awesome. Rivendell is the real deal and so are the kids from Bluelug.

Same! Always thought they were somewhere in the pacific north west. Immediately took a field trip there and Roman was very helpful and easy to talk to. No bike snobbery detected. Just complete passion and joy for the art of riding a bicycle.

I had a brief chat with Grant when I was deciding to buy my first-generation Atlantis- a big chunk of change for me at the time. Now, twenty-five years and three Rivendells later, it’s great to hear him still expounding on the Rivendell philosophy.
Wow! Grant in person! I still have my Romulus and my Bleriot. My original gravel bikes...

I know markets and trends change, but I wish they still had something like the "Road Standard" or" Rambouillet" that would allow today's wider tires and still had those beautiful lugged steel frames.
