Great video Joe, I am surprised no one else has done a video like this mentioning the tsunami in Khao Lak. I was at work watching it unfold on TV with one eye on the cricket. I don't know about coffee and orange juice, I like my coffee similar to the Italians.
@hungrytoexplore Жыл бұрын
I think a couple of people have done something similar, but not many. Paddy mentioned it in his Khao Lak video. haha I was stubborn on the coffee and orange juice too... until I tried it. It is something you want to keep sipping, in a weird good way. You should try it.

Hello Joe, great video, i miss to eat such delish soups you had at the beginning of vid. i think Thailand has the best diversity of soup stalls👍😋.Thy ! the Tsunami in 2004 was the most terrible event, very very sad.... we had a flight to the Nicobar Islands but couldn`t go because of destructions from Tsunami, i didn`t visit until now....
@hungrytoexplore Жыл бұрын
ooo that is a big claim. I love Thai soups, but I think Vietnam might take the win for that one in my opinion. I didn't think that until I visited. Not that Thai soup is bad, it is fantastic. yeah, it was a horrendous event which I remember vividly. So it was very moving to be there

Thanks for sharing video Joe, I feel the emotion and pain in your voice when you think about that day, even I feel the same how people stood there without running waiting until the last minute, those days they didn't knew what tsunami was.

Hi Joe, I will have instant noodles with Arugula for lunch at work today, but I will imagine eating what you are eating 😅. On a serious note, I just said a prayer for those souls that the Tsunami took. Blessings to all.🙏

In this place, a six-meter wall of water just came, yes, it was time to leave, but no one thought that the water would go so far. Here, even the buildings were buried under a about 10 fishermen. But someone managed to swim across the waves in long-tailed boats. Someone was washed ashore and came to his senses when the entire village was destroyed. a lot of people died here - thousands of fishermen in this place.
@hungrytoexplore Жыл бұрын
so so sad! thank you for sharing that additional information
@AlekseyHito Жыл бұрын
@@hungrytoexplore There was a village of fishermen, their buildings were weak against the tsunami. Because of the Cambodians, they do not know exactly how many died, but where you are standing, about 2 thousand people. These places smelled strongly of corpses and many left their businesses out of desperation. In some families, the fishermen lost almost everyone. So the story is sad. I have pictures of the tsunami hitting this bay. The wave went in 3-4 stages and 7 meters in height. But very strong.
@FullFinnoy Жыл бұрын
The Tsunami also killed 179 Finnish nationals, our current President Sauli Niinistö was there with his son then at the time and they escaped the flosh flood created by the tsunami by hanging on to one of the street lights - at the top of the light pole - that's how high the water was.
