As I understand, Cornell University is not the main financial support for the gardens. The gardens are short on funding and staff.

Yes, we learned during our visit that they're mostly self-funded through donations. I'm sorry to hear they're short on both donations and volunteers. The gardens are such an asset to the area and the campus!
