If this is your first time, my name is Laura and I am always wearing my frugal pants! We are a family of 5. We have too many pets to count who often make an appearance in some way. I also cannot promise there will not be loud sounds in the background…mom life.

Hi Laura, loved your video. I do volunteer work at the food bank. They have different boxes made up for Diabetics and Homeless people, which I think is wonderful because some are walking, living in their car and even on bicycles with a basket to carry their food haul. Wow! that is so great! I love that they even think about those with diabetes. And saving the items for those who need food that can be made outside of a kitchen/refrigerator is so amazing! This way they can actually get things they can use. I love it!

Just a tip that my mom use to do with her chickens in the winter. She would mix red pepper flakes into her feed. That helps with the hens laying eggs. Just thought you might like to try it if you like.

I do this as well! I also mix in garlic powder, black sunflower seeds, and cat food (just a bit for a treat.) I think it's just been way to cold with the snow. They usually stop laying for 2-3 months then back at it.

You could use the pie crust to make pot pies. There are meat pastry recipes online. I personally like the pastry pies but i season mine with creole seasoning because i like that seasoning. You can make a big batch then freeze some for easy lunch or dinners.

You can also cut the pie crusts into bite sized pieces and sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar and bake them into a super tasty treat!

I am not huge on talking about religion, mostly because that's not fights I want to start, and someone will have something negative to say. So I try and keep what I say pretty mild and inclusive to all religions and beliefs. But I will never deny that God and Jesus have shown their love so many times! I grew up with a very religious mom, went to a religion based college, but it wasn't until I was older and fought my own battles and beliefs, that I was able to truly see and feel all the blessings.

I went to a drive though this week. I was blessed with three hugh 5 pound cabbages and I have no clue what to make with them. Im guessing it is just a veggie food drive. I've not been given anything else. I was one of my first time going. Your not alone 😊

hand pies are so good too. your right beef or chicken pot pie that crust can be cut into pieces and add a little sugar and bake for a sweet treat too. Much of these pantries provide food for those in need if people don't go and get this food many times it's throw out people need to more kind to each other.

Wow, everything came just in time. You must live near another lady on here because she got the pie crusts too this week. Thank goodness you can freeze them. Also...I hate smooth food!

Yep! I live pretty close to her I think. I think she lives in the town near my sister. The video where she got her pie crusts was the same line I got 60 pork chops. She was there before it started and I got there 15 min before it ended. It is interesting to see the differences.

Looks great. I missed the food drive this morning. I had to leave the house at 7am. But I could not go to sleep last night. I have trouble sleeping. When I don't sleep I get dizzy so no driving. Will watch for the next one.

Some large grocery chain must have canceled their pie crust order because this is the third video I see where food banks are giving out boxes full of pie crust. One lady got two boxes with 24 in each one. Or the other reason I'm thinking is because the best by date must be coming up.

I think I know who you are talking about, the lady who got 2 boxes. We live about 20 minutes from each other and go to the same places. It's always interesting so see the difference in what we are blessed with.

I have a turnover maker. I use dollar tree pie filling for it. When i get marked down pizza dough, I make calzones. The turnover maker has paid for itself. You mentioned eggs... what about Quiche when the eggs come in? Chicken pot pie?

I am going to Google a turnover maker! I love making pot pies and want to try a hand pie. My sister and my nieces all chip in for chicken feed and, in return, get all the eggs they need. But, oddly, I have never had a quiche!

My son went to a church od bank they sad he could only make 3,000 a month. He was getti g it fir me I only make 1,000 a month rent and utilities
