I’ve been watching Mr Aviary and your videos for a couple of years now. You’ve both inspired me to make my own aviary this year. Thanks to you both.

Same, I live up north but even if only for a few months I would like to give them the sounds, weather changes, space, etc. Still in planning stages plus its 5 deg f outside so not in a hurry. hehe

I’m going to buy a smallish shed, then build and connect an outside area. A lot like mr aviary design. I’ve been drawing up plans for a few weeks now. 😂

Your series is great, keep up the good content. All Finch breeders around the world are being identified. The video would have been better if you had interviewed the breeder also. Thanks

Alot of success in Australia breeding Blue Caps is by feeding them White Ants (Termites) through out the breeding season.
@paradiseaviary
@paradiseaviary 3 жыл бұрын
When I use to keep this species back in 2012 i also would feed termites during the breeding season and had great succes with many of the species that needes insects like the blue caps, blue breast, pytilias and twinspots. Unfortunetly they are not easy to collect here because they are subterranial so finding them was always a problem for me. I believe in Australia you guys have the termite mounds so much easier to find and collect thay way.

I have a problem and I blame you Rancel! Since you got me hooked on birds I got 4 of my own, 2 canaries and 2 zebra finches. But the problem is that I cannot find any more birds! No one wants to ship any and no one is breeding locally. What is the solution to my problem finding birds!?

@08'Kota trust me the bird addiction gets worse 🤣. Where are you located ? And what species of birds are you interested in ?

@@paradiseaviary thanks for the reply! I live in Thunder Bay, which is in Northwestern Ontario, about a 30 minute drive north of the Manitoba/Ontario border and far from any major city. I actually saw plenty of birds for sale online they’re always located in large areas like Toronto and Alberta. And it’s very cold here, so I’m not sure how shipping would work. I’d even take a chance on incubating eggs if they can be shipped. (Can they?) I actually have experience raising baby birds, in fact I started watching your channel last summer when I took in and successfully raised a nest of 4 orphaned day-old house sparrows from my neighbor’s attic. I really enjoyed feeding them and watching them develop into healthy adults. It was the most rewarding experience of my life and I would love to raise more birds like them since I’m now an expert at it. I’m mostly interested in small birds, Finches mainly. I’d even be interested in breeding on a small scale if I could get a hold of a breeding pair, seeing as I’m an expert bird dad now 😂 Keep up the great work, man! And thanks for the advice. Richard

Ive heard of some great breeders from down there, would love to someday visit! We use to get the blue caos abd many others regularly imported but thats a thing of the past. Theres still some bloodlines left in the states hopefully those who keep them can get numbers up.
