Visiting the Smithsonian Museums - in Sign Language

Welcome to the third day of my Culturally Immersive ASL trip to Gallaudet. I am a hearing college student learning ASL!
Let's reflect back to March 2020: PRE-COVID
I'm spending a week without any speaking---all of my communication will through using ASL only!
Our third day covers my first time visiting the National Museums including: the Smithsonian Museum of American History, The Holocaust Museum, and the Museum of African-American History. It was amazing! I learned so much about our country and the people who are a part of its history and present. It was also really incredible to have these experiences while communicating entirely in American Sign Language.
I think my favorite parts were learning about the Star-Spangled Banner and first American Flag with the stars and stripes, and the Holocaust museum. It was incredibly sobering but so moving and what a testament to the millions of people who's lives were lost. If you ever have the opportunity to go don't miss it. Again, I really enjoyed communicating in entirely ASL as it added to the reverence of the place.
Note: I’m still learning ASL, my signs and grammar are not perfect. Thank you for your patience.
