VISITING THE TWISTERS 2 SET IN CHICKASHA, OK!

While visiting the town of Chickasha, OK this past weekend for just a little weekend getaway, I stumbled across a tip that the sequel to TWISTER, appropriately titled TWISTERS was filming in this exact town!
The set that spanned about three blocks in one neighborhood was actually constructed and dressed in June of this year, but due to the strike(s), filming was halted shortly after and has just recently resumed in Chickasha and other surrounding towns in Oklahoma. I was just lucky enough to hear about this while in town and after visiting realizing the set was still there.

My grandparents lived at 1822 Minnesota few blocks west of 17th. There was a gas station across from the Wandora when I was a kid. On the south east corner.

Hey guys. i use to live on the corner of 18th Street and W. Dakota ave, back in 1979. I was 10 and my friends and I use to go to the gas station that use to be across from the Bar to get Candy and soda. I got my first Jolt Cola there. Its weird to see this like this. I haven't been in Chickasha since 1987.

The new plans for US 81 bypass to the west will they fourlane it to Union city as they bypass Minco, Pocasset and will bring more commercia and industryl to Chickasha. Duncan bypass still needs it bridges over streets Osage, Plato and Camelback then fourlane to US 81 all the way to Red river as we get. Texas to fourlane it to Bowie Texas. Meanwhile in Duncan fourlane SH 7 to I 35 as once was a proposed Turnpike under Governor David Walters. Also south of Duncan on old hwy 81 aka 13th street upgrades to Halliburton field and airport then where the refinery used to be open for industry. Texas is already fourlaning US 82 west from Nocona to Henrietta as they tend to make US 287 interstate from Amarillo to Fort Worth. Towards the east the two lane Chicksaw turnpike was a waste of money How about fourlaning US 70 from SH 76 west to US 81. It's already being fourlaned east of Ardmore bypassing Madill and rather it bypasses Kingston to Durant which they still talk of making US 69 & US 75 interstate. Durant just built US 70 fourlane bypass south of existing US 70 and will they fourlane it all the to Hugo and Indian Nation turnpike which talk of making interstate. Also fourlaning US 70 east to I 49 in Arkansas. US 62 west of needs to be fourlane to Texas US 83. SH 79 could use some upgrades and possible fourlane NE Wichita falls tp US 70 and bring Waurika jobs and extend SH 79 to Duncan would be nice. To be continued...
