The Caribbean cruises are very affordable. Compare it to a mainline ship for the same number of days and you are getting close in cost. Their suite cost as a base, then add unlimited drinks, including espresso, every meal would be a specialty restaurant, more intimate size ship (I love kids, but they are few), the excursions are similar or even less expensive, free internet, gratuities included, almost a 1 to 1 employee to customer, and a lot more. Viking also has very affordable Caribbean cruises, but they get into the 1,000 guests. I'm disabled and in a power wheelchair. On our 1st Silversea cruise, the service rep, Andre's, got us mixed up to deck 8. I was not comfortable talking my chair in, so the butler took it every night and plugged it in to charge. Every morning it was outside our door. If I add it all up and compare, I'll go Silversea every time even if it is more expensive. Sadly, our upcoming cruise will be my last, unless we do a New England Fall cruise. I have ALS and I think that the progression will be too much after this year. I hope you get to go on one of their cruises, great experience and incredible food. We never made it to the shows, but we were beat by then. People were very nice on our ship and I have been in contact with a few thi this day. Spoke with one this past weekend. We have also made tentative plans with a German couple also. Good luck Doug

@@DougClough Thanks so much for your reply Doug. You are absolutely spot on about your comments regarding the 'value' in all inclusive luxury cruising. Silversea's butlers are an absolute joy aren't they? All through the day, we witnessed them helping guests, caring for guests and generally they couldn't do enough for you and they didn't confine themselves to the corridors of the suites either - they went wherever on the ship their guests asked them to be. It was like nothing I've seen before on any cruise line. I'm so sorry your next cruise will be your last but I warmly wish that you'll make every second of it as enjoyable as you can! :)

@@DougClough Oh I am so sorry Doug! Bless you. I really enjoy your cruise vids. I've been on only one cruise this millennium, but it was a good one. San Francisco (I live not too far from there) to Sydney on the Queen Elizabeth. My previous cruise was on the old P&O Oriana San Francisco to Sydney back in 1965 with my parents and sisters! My sis and I went on our QE cruise as a tribute. Take care, and will miss you.

@@CapriciousCapricrn I would want to do that cruise, Karen, she wouldn't. I'm looking toward to our cruise this March. Probably my last with the extra work that will come as I progress, but that's ok, I love watching Karen's face when she is enjoying the moment wherever it is. I'm just thankful I got to take her on a couple of cruises. I'm hoping my term on the Advisory Council will be extended. The annual meeting is in Perth. It's genna take some work getting Karen on board for that. Have a wonderful day.

Thank-you for this. We'll be boarding the spirit in San Juan in a couple of weeks and after being on the Muse and the Shadow, 9as well as the Cloud back in its day before expeditions) I'm happy to see that Tor's actually serves drinks at night -- and that the Panorama lounge comes alive at night. In Asia and S. American the Silversea crowd went to bed at 10 pm!! And we're well over 60 hoping to do a little dancing in the evening. Hope to see Part 3 before we fly south. Cheers from Canada!

"and the Oscar goes to... Visit With Us" yes, this video series definitely deserves a KZbin Oscar (if there is such a thing!) An excellent tour of the ship, I particularly liked the time-lapse shots of the butler setting the table. I also like how little things always remind you of something from star wars :P What was your favorite dining venue aboard?

Wonderful cruising, but will I need a tux?
@visitwithus5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The good news is you don't need a tux! There's a couple of formal nights on a typical cruise and I'd admit, I love pulling out the tux for those occasions, but you really only need a jacket and tie. :)

Another superb video Rich and Helen. I am really enjoying working my way through them all, and usually comment at the end of the series. HOWEVER, I couldn't allow your comment on the heinous practice of placing books, towels and other articles on sunbeds and loungers at the earliest opportunity (usually so that they can be used at the latest opportunity for the shortest possible time), to go unapplauded and hear hear'ed. I've yet to come across any establishment that knows how to handle the issue particularly well. I've handled it myself a few times, but it still ends up being a bit awkward when the early depositer returns just before sundown to catch the last few rays in the comfort of "their" sunbed. I usually blame a pool attendant that knocked off several hours earlier. Grrrrrr! I shouldn't be getting this irate watching your soothing videos but you hit the nerve. Hope you can get back up and running soon because I am having to ration my viewing of your wonderful videos now! Many thanks again.

Just wish there was a cruise that emphasised healthy food. Imagine the expertise of their chefs creating something beautiful, tasty and🤞 not full of sugar and refined grains. 🤞 maybe one day you'll find a healthy cruise to recommend
@visitwithus Жыл бұрын
There usually is a healthy option on the menu and obviously the buffet is up to you what you choose. To be honest we find dining in the main dining rooms the sizes of the dishes are well portioned and we often only have one course so I guess it’s down to personal choices.

I saw longe chair tickets from the 1950's for the Cunard Queens, that the line used to issue for certain lounge chairs - so you had to book for specific times. Perhaps cruise lines should just go back to that for those double loungers. Waiting for manners to suddenly develop in adults seems a futile exercise don't you think?
