Finished echoes last night and after watching a few videos on it I’m realizing how many things I didn’t do with the echoes. Like scaling a wall with the spider for example. As someone who replays games a lot, this game seems to be absolutely perfect for it. I’m already thinking about a second playthrough lol.

I've never noticed the problems with Link's Awakening and Zelda EOW frame problems. And I got my phone at 1080p (60fps) I'll check this out myself on my switch ..but I've never noticed it maybe because I don't care about graphics
@radicalsmith6934Ай бұрын
@@dragonsigner that’s not how any of that works the frame rate on the switch console is not related to what your phone or computer renders videos at
@TheBlazingNdrmanАй бұрын
Low framerate isn't cause by the visuals themselves, it's caused by rendering them. If you're watching a recorded video of it, your phone doesn't have to render that, so it wont be an issue with your phone.

I legitimately have no idea what people are looking at that they notice frame rate changing. Like, playing Breath of the Wild on Wii U, sure, I noticed when there were big drops to ten, fifteen FPS at specific spots in the Korok Forest, and when sixty FPS was introduced to KZbin, yeah, I could tell how jarringly fluid that Mario Kart video looked... but outside of that? Where are people looking on the screen that they can tell when the frame rate changes? Maybe my eyesight is just weird or something

Yeah I agree. Dropping to 30 is not noticeable whatsoever. As a casual gamer ive never found that anything over 30 is that worth it. I guess I can switch between 30 and 60 and I notice it but 30 has never been bad to me

I noticed that while they have the same style, link’s awakening looks much more… plasticky? like they really wanted to make them look like toys made from hard plastic. everything is much shinier. echoes of wisdom still carries that a little bit, but to a lesser extent.
@ZTriggerGamingАй бұрын
My best guess is that Echoes of Wisdom was slated to be an early Switch 2 game, but was ported to Switch to fill the gap created in their portfolio by Switch 2 being pushed back. This would explain the absolutely abysmal performance on Switch. Nintendo has always been comfortable with lower frame rates, but EoW takes that to another level entirely. Almost as if it was never meant to run on this hardware. Is this the case? Probably not, but it’s fun to theorize.
@aidencook5524Ай бұрын
Im not sure what you mean by ABYSMAL performance, it seems to run decently fine for me and the only drops i notice are the parts with like 80 tris on screen after a dungeon. I might be biased though because i hardly care about framerate and performance so i probably notice it less

I haven't noticed any performance issues... maybe I'm not that observant, but the game is just so fun, so that if a performance issue broke the immersion, I would consider that a problem... but I've sunk about 25 - 30 hrs in to the game and haven't noticed any frame drops or lag

I miss games being maze-like. Open worlds took so much from it. And they still could do it so well if they just withholded certain traversal features and unlock them over time like in a Metroidvania. The games would be so much better structured and overall superior.

Most of Nintendo's games are so beautiful. Many of them are more VISUALLY APPEALING than what I see on much more powerful current gen console hardware, despite the immense gap in capabilities. It's clear that Nintendo's full potential - as well as that of their partners studios - is still severely restricted. People aren't ready for what they'll be achieving on Switch 2. I can't wait!

fr! i think so many games coming out nowadays are stuck on having top tier graphics performance-wise to the detriment of a good visual identity. i can't wait to see what they do with the switch 2 (assuming it has significantly better specs), totk was already absolutely gorgeous even with all the limitations of the switch (oof the frame rate drops when using ultrahand tho)

1. it's not what "most gamers" care about lol. if someone is a switch gamer they most likely don't care that much about top tier performance, they care more about (in the case of zelda games at least) puzzles, exploration, story, etc. than frame rate and shit. the frame rate drops are a bit jarring but not absolutely game breaking 2. he literally talks about it for like half the video you should watch it before commenting

Why would there need to be frame rate drops? It's not Tears of the Kingdom. There's not a lot happening on screen.
