Got it. Conceal also means you conceal the fact that you're the "type" who would carry and use a gun. Great point!👍😎

I work for a company that's no fan of firearms. I'll never say a word about guns to anyone there or have anything remotely tactical looking. The only compromise I make is a pocketknife clip on my pocket. I carry my phone in a belt pouch at 1:00 just in case I ever need to disguise a gun bulge.

Her statement is spot on. I did 18 years as a Green Beret. How guys dressed on their off time always bothered me. They felt the need to dress SF casual just because they were carrying. We saw this constantly with coventional military personnel. Conceal carry includes how you dress. This helps you not become the target if something was to go down.

I like how you use the beltless french tuck to erase the idea that you are carrying a firearm; I can never seem to get the tuck right. Though some of your untucked shirts do seem a bit short; normal when standing, but not long enough to conceal the firearm when reaching for something on a high shelf (eg. the big bag of chips on the top shelf...the big bag)

I'm a programmer. We're almost expected to dress a little dorky but I make sure not to wear anything remotely tactical. When I tuck my shirt in, I wear my phone in a belt pouch at 1:00 partly for easy access and comfort, partly to disguise and distract from a gun bulge if one should be there. It might draw attention but it itself is the explanation for a slightly off shape. I'm about twenty years too young to carry my phone like that but I don't care. I don't talk about guns to anyone outside of my house. Non gun people very rarely think about guns and rarely look for them. Why should I get them thinking about guns? If someone wants to learn about guns that's different but camouflage is not putting the idea there in the first place. I do have a pocketknife clip visible but pocketknives are a little easier to explain. No one has ever asked about my knife or the artisan flashlight clipped next to it. I use an old Vertx bag that doesn't look tactical. Be the person no one would ever expect to be packing heat.

Again great content, ideas. You didn't even go into the obvious blatant t-shirt logos or car stickers-not saying getting the word out about pro-2a is bad. Due to you I've recently gotten involved in local range IDPA and skills classes, the steel racks and bowling pin shoots are great too.. nothing like actually running and gunning to find out deficiencies and improve safe handling, and everyone is super friendly and helpful to refine use(constructive ways to improve what they can see me doing from an observer viewpoint). They post the scores so I can track of my improvement objectively over time.

Hey there! Everyones body has natural peaks and valleys, and thus their own challenges. It's a common misconception that smaller frames have an easier time concealing, but believe it or not it can be a concealment benefit to have some curves to hide the gun in :) Creating content with other body types is too cost prohibited for me because it would require me to hire a model and rent a studio space. Armed and Styled is not profitable currently, so that may become a possibility if/when this channel starts generating more income. That said, I created a video over on PHLsters channel that includes allll different kinds of body shapes :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5uapWhri7Ooq68

@@tessahbooth So much this. As a relatively small and skinny dude who wears a lot of tailored clothing and suits, it's a lot harder for me to conceal basically anything than a bigger guy or girl. One of my buddies regularly conceals a G19 with a light and optic with no issues, while the absolute max I can carry is a 365. I love the comparison you made in another video about the relative size of different guns on your frame- likewise for me, my little PPK is relatively as large on my waist as a Commander 1911 on someone who's 6'2" with a 38" waist.
@seekertwo12 жыл бұрын
You know....I think I see a pattern in your choice of concealment rigs...... With the Enigma, do you have to go up in size with your pants waist to accommodate it as you would a standard IWB holster? If so, by how much over your non-carry size do you need?
@seekertwo12 жыл бұрын
Great video!
@tessahbooth2 жыл бұрын
Personally, I've never had to size up my pants for any concealed carry set up, but I think this has a lot to do with the kind of pants you're wearing. If your pants are 100% cotton, and offer no stretch at all, then you'll have to size up. That said, the tegris itself is very low profile and shouldn't add enough material to the holster to warrant needing to size up your pants.

If I am in an area or a position where someone intends to do me harm and I may need to defend myself, I wouldn't consider it a bad thing if a would be attacker thinks that I might have a gun. I would rather not be carrying a gun and have any would be attacker assume I was and not start an altercation at all, than have a gun and a would be attacker actually attacks me because he thinks I do not have a gun. Just because you have a gun does not mean that you are not vulnerable. You could just be walking down the street and someone comes up behind you and knocks in the back of the head and you wouldn't even know what happened, let alone have time to pull out your gun. I would rather that person think twice about running up on me in the first place. Or let's say that you are at a bank, and a bank robber comes in, if that bank robber sees a bunch of Navy Seal looking guys wearing tactical clothing, I bet he doesn't even try to rob the bank. Whereas if he sees a bunch of well dressed professional looking people wearing suits and business clothing, I bet he does. Now what is better, a would be bank robber not even attempting it due to fear of being taken down, or a would be bank robber actually attempting to rob a bank and a shootout occurs? Yeah, a bunch of armed people wearing business casual clothing can still take him down, but would it not have been better for him to have gotten scared off and rethink the whole robbing banks thing? All I am saying is that it is not bad to look like you are not someone to fuck with. You are not actually trying to get into an altercation with anyone. The house with the alarm company sign out front, a dog barking in the backyard, and big diesel pickup truck in the drive way is less likely to be broken into than a house with gnomes, flower pots, and a Nissan Leaf in the drive way, even if the home invader is going to deal with 00 buck to his face once he tries anything at either house.
