I've come back to try VSC three times in five years. Coding professionaly I've never seen the appeal, it just lacks the QOL of other tools like IntelliJ IDEA (100$/year seems a bargain to me). Most people I've seen using VSC spend more time configuring it than actually doing meaningful work. But yeah, I'm obviously opinionated.
