Don't be naive! Debt does not exist if you are the one printing the money.
@electricaluniversal10038 жыл бұрын
amen, but that says nothing about the purchasing power of said currency. (see Greenspan interview) its worth something, until its not. Than you have a real problem( google working paper on hyperinflation for an extremely in depth view of all the worlds hyperinflation)
@2Sor2Fig8 жыл бұрын
Which is exactly why America need to make sure the USD is the 'global currency', because when you print it you can ignore that debt. As soon as it becomes differentiated, they're in massive trouble, since now you have to own enough of that asset (foreign currency), and the amount of that asset you can purchase would drop, since the USD partly earns its high value from the fact that it can and will be used globally. But if the Yuan were to be used in more global markets than the USD, that dollar wouldn't be nearly as valuable, hence the trouble. Of course, fractional banking is a the reason this is a problem, but whose going to revise the economic model we've been happy with for over 100 years, huh?

Okay, so I still have a question, and it's one I've yet to find someone to answer and I'd LOVE if you guys could. If there's only so much money in the world, and the debt of the world tops like 10x it, then WHO is all the money owed to?? Is it to each other?? Surely deals could be created in that case to drive the overall debt down. Like if China owes the US 5 trillion, the US owes Russia 5 trillion, and Russia owes China 5 Trillion, then they could just do a three way "cancel" deal and erase the debt. No? Again, very confused and would love any info on this!

more than 50% of the world's wealth is owned by 1% of the world population... its 7.425.000.000 million persons vs 75.000.000, if 99% of the people would rise in arms, we would all be millionares...
@krishanaseetpatel7 жыл бұрын
eric sr But then the money would be worth less.
@eric7dev7 жыл бұрын
if we redistribute equally all the worlds wealth over the 7.5k million persons, the only people that would be afected negatively are those 1% elites, theres 50% of the planet money just sitting in a bank vault, while tens of thousands of persons starve to death... money may worth less, but still would be enough to keep every1 living in so much abundance.... people dont even realize the scale of the situation here.... 'it would be like a horse shaking off some pesky flies, if we chose, we could blow the party to pieces tomorrow morning' - george orwell, 1894 they cannot exist isolated from the other 99% of the planet... its laughable how people just love being controled... like herd of sheep or crowd of slaves... i know its way more complicated than that but cmon... the whole fkin world is being run by psychopaths, i cannot be the only one who notice

all of money in the world is a fictional currency, it has no worth, but we humans get together and agreed that it has worth let alone its just a piece of paper.
@sammyhuseman71287 жыл бұрын
This is very misleading. The total value of assets underlying transactions in the derivatives market may equal near $700 trillion, but we should bear in mind that the value of the assets underlying a transaction is not the same as the value of the transaction itself. When the value of assets is subtracted from the 700 trillion, the derivatives market shrinks to near $22 trillion (the actual size of the market).

how come debt is more than actual money
@scl20008 жыл бұрын
Because of fractional reserve banking. The general number is usually 10%. That's how much the banks have to keep in their reserve (picture their vault). They can loan out the rest. Say you deposit $100 in the bank. They keep $10 in their reserve and loan out the $90. When someone gets that $90 loan and deposits that money in the bank, they will again keep 10% in reserve ($9) and loan out the rest ($81). And so on and so forth. See how at this point debt ($90+81) is already more than the actual money ($100)?

notional value of derivatives. you are misleading AF. A 10 million notional dollar swap in the end is worth nothing. as the two counterparties cancels eachother out. derivatives are a net zero. They are not an income generating assets.
