XC rider here who have owned Enduro bikes till few months ago. There’s something about DH bikes that makes you want one so damn hard even if you don’t descend a three step staircase 😅

Notice how the Pivot bikes are held by the frame, and not the seatpost, when on the workstand.......... Finn's bike has grip-covers to keep em clean in the pits!?!??! never seen that before. The tuned mass-damper (used on skyscrapers to reduce swaying in high winds, btw) on the rear of the Mondraker bikes, and the new Saint brakes....whoooo!

The TMD - if that’s what it is, and Fox have a patent (although PinkBike says it’s in the steerer) - is fascinating and might just work (it does in some motorsports). Well guessed, I couldn’t think what it might be, well apart from tent storage as mentioned!!!! 🎉

Mechanics put grip covers on the bike to let the riders know its being worked on and to not touch anything or take it out of the stand.

Grip covers are very common on the World Cup

It looks like something that could be a TMD, but why on the rear wheel? It could also be data acquisition. Maybe it is just a gimmick to make sure they get media coverage :D.

These bikes look awesome! Great coverage. Makes me want to look into tire stickers now. (Even though the tires are constantly moving and dirty quickly). Its free real estate ;)

It's interesting to see that the pivot has a new rear end, looks like a flex stay too. Wonder if that UDH is 12x148 or 12x157.

148mm has never been used as standard in downhill. I m pretty sure its 157mm.

Loving the rally style approach (name and flag of driver and co-driver on the side of the car) on Andi Kolbs machine and choosing to also adding his mechanic (i guess) to the frame. Maybe his mechanic chose for himself :D

Is this a Fashion sport? Eventually they will ride fast and simply the best rider on the day will win regardless of the fashion and rear suspension marketing design guff. It's 90% marketing and hopefully they Patented everything to stop others making the same mistakes. Everything I own will never go out of fashion because it has never been in fashion but Fun Fun Fun will prevail. E=Mtb²
