The 48-ounce stainless steel container is said to be compatible with “all full-size Vitamix blenders”. See: www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/accessories/48-ounce-stainless-steel-container That appears to include (but is not necessarily limited to) the Ascent series, the Explorian series, and “Legacy” blenders with the specific Legacy blenders found on this page: www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/classic-blenders My personal model is the A2300 (Ascent series) and the Stainless Steel container works fine on it. There is also an Ascent Series model (the A3500) that comes with a stainless steel container as standard found here: www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/a3500-with-stainless-steel-container Note: I do NOT work for Vitamix nor am I associated with Vitamix in anyway.
