Thanks for your review. I have a pair of corso pro 28c running on 25mm interal width road wheels balloning out to just over 30mm. I like how they ride compared to revious tires conti TL 5000 28c they feel smother and more comfortable due to the high TPI. Only downside is the puncture protection. Had a puncture that sealed up, but had a tear because i failed to avoid a metal road debris, which I feel that a conti tl5000 wouldn't have a problem with. I patched the tear with a standard tube pat h since a small dynaplug wasn't sealing the tear. The patched up so far.

Glad you shared your thoughts. I also feel initially that the ride is very smooth. Haven’t had an issue with punctures but I don’t have a lot of time on them yet. Puncture protection and durability are always longer term concerns.

Nice presentation of the pros and cons. Do you know if Vittoria allows the use of tire plugs on these tires ? It seems they didn’t on the previous version. I had to dig deep in there pdf to find that out, but it put me off as it is my go to if a tire punctures and the sealant won’t seal the hole. Thanks

Thanks! I’m honestly not sure about plugs on these. I can’t say that I even knew that some manufacturers say not to use them. Either way, I’ve gotten about 1000-1500 miles on these since this review and have only had one puncture and I didn’t even know I had it until I saw some sealant on my seat tube. I just put out a follow up to this with my long term thoughts if you want to check it out.

Very good/helpful video ! How did they seal and hold air ? I’ve read that it takes awhile for them to be airtight ? How do you like the ride ? Do the beads stay seated when the tire is totally deflated ?
@JMCyclingVideos
@JMCyclingVideos Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately they’ve been leaking down a bit overnight. My hope is that more riding will keep them aired up longer. Ride is phenomenal so far, as expected from a cotton casing tire. And so far they’ve held the bead but I haven’t “fully” deflated them. Hope this helps!

Thanks ! I am going to try a set. Maybe I will get Vittorias own sealant and give that a try when I mount them. I have used Pirelli P Zero Race tlr tires for a couple of years and they are great, but a touch heavy as the tread is a bit thicker. I used to ride Vittorias , but didn’t like the way the previous Corsa mounted tubeless. Anxious to see if this new version is better as I know I love the ride . Thanks again, Dave

Some days ego i have installed Vittoria Rubino Pro iv 700*28, on 18.5mm rims, and tire width was 28,5mm inflat to 6 bar, and after 30km ride the tires width became 29.3mm on 5 bar of pressure. Very nice... But it to big for my bike😢
@JMCyclingVideos
@JMCyclingVideos 5 ай бұрын
That is quite a bit larger on only 18.5mm rims. I would've expected those to end up closer to 28mm on that rim width. Sorry that's a bit too big for your bike.

I tried to install a pair of Corsa Pro TLR's in 28mm on some Ultegra 8170 wheels. Serious failure with tubeless. The tyres were super easy to get on the rim (bad sign for tubeless). With such a loose tyre the tyres couldn't be seated or inflated at all with a pump or CO2 canister. These Corsa Pros in TLR version with those Ultegra wheels are a fail! Sad as I've never had issues with my Hunt wheels going tubeless with Schwalbe Pro One's or GP5000 S TR's. I wonder if the issue I had with the friend was related to this tyre or the rim..

That's interesting that you had trouble seating them. These were definitely not the worst I've installed (see Challenge tires for that headache).

I just got a set of these and what I did was remove the valve core and it seated straight away. Yet with the valve core in I couldn't get to seat

That's good to know. Any time I try to inflate with a track pump, I have the valve core in. Perhaps removing it will make it easier to seat. At least worth a shot when I'm working through these videos.

Is there an arrow for the direction of rotation on these tyres ?
@JMCyclingVideos
@JMCyclingVideos 4 ай бұрын
Good question! No, these tires are not direction. That's in contrast to the Vittoria Corsa Pro Control tires which will be featured on the channel soon and ARE directional. Subscribe if you haven't already to be notified when that video comes out.

tubeless on rim brakes?
@JMCyclingVideos
@JMCyclingVideos 10 ай бұрын
Absolutely! Tubeless tires aren't a disc brake only feature. There are a LOT of tubeless compatible rim brake wheels, like mine.
@overlandingfamily

why not 28s?
@JMCyclingVideos
@JMCyclingVideos 8 ай бұрын
One, I have a rim brake bike and 28’s would probably top out clearance. Two, my wheels are 27.5mm external so the 105% aero “rule” puts 25’s as most aerodynamic. However, with a disc brake bike I’d probably go 28-32 depending on clearance now.

@@JMCyclingVideos Softer sidewalls, deforms better, lighter and more comfortable to ride. Plus easier to mount and clean without mess with sealant. You can pump it up to 1 bar more and have the same comfort like tubeless. Latex tubes.
@JMCyclingVideos
@JMCyclingVideos Жыл бұрын
Good to know. I don't typically run latex tubes in anything because of the leak down. But, in my experience with butyl and TPU tubes, the clincher version of the tires isn't as supple or comfortable. And higher pressure isn't always faster as we've learned in recent years. Thanks for the feedback.

@@JMCyclingVideos I have tried few tubeless tires and they feel slugish even on the same pressure like clinchers and no good feel for the road. Tested few of them on same bike and wheels downhill without pedaling and tubeless is always slower
