Saw the Slits umpteen times between 77 and 79, Ari gave me oranges cos I was hungry at Exeter Uni gig. The Clash, The Slits, The Innocents, "Sort It Out" tour autumn 78, I still have the small button badges of the Slits, each has a cartoon-like matchstick figure of Viv or Ari or Tessa or Palmolive. Who remembers The Slits at the Acklam? Happy days, oh we were young indeed.

Wow. What a breath of fresh air she is. Such bright eyes and a winning smile. Just great candid observations on music, the original London punk scene, motherhood and even how common porn is today compared to her era. Just loved to hear what she had to say about John Peel and Steve Marriott. She might downplay her musical abilities some and maybe music doesn't come as easy to her as others but the Slits were ALWAYS unique, unlike anything else before or since, and some of her guitar riffs are in my list of favorites. Rock on Viv!

She looks 20 years younger than her age, amazing! I'm in the middle of her book right now, a great read. Anyone interested in the punk rock era should read it.

I should add, that she HAS aged a bit since this particular episode. But still one hell of a yummy mummy for sure! There's a great picture of Viv Albertine, nude, sitting and hiding behind an acoustic guitar. And she has an amazing figure too, great legs indeed! *_Almost_* of the par of Susanna Hoffs! Y'know?! 🤔 😍😘👌🏼, Even though Susanna Hoffs may have some crows-feet, THAT'S ALL! That's IT!?! 🤔 🤷🏻♂️ I don't know how but Hoffs has absolutely kept her figure from her mid 20s!? Goddamn amazing legs!

Viv is amazing and looks younger than me! I am very jealous of Robert Llewellyn for seeing her on stage with The Slits in their heyday. I would have loved to have seen those old punk bands but sadly I was much too young.

I was one of the "young people" into the Slits... since they were about to record Cut when I was born. Viv Albertine is one of my favorite guitarists of all-time and it was unfortunate that she wasn't a part of the reformed Slits when they played in the US around 2007-2008. This is a great interview... cheers!

At 5:50 they turn left out of Royal College Street into Camden Road opposite the station. 11:07 crossing the canal bridge at Camden Lock (Dingwalls) 12:02 under the railway bridge at Camden Market, into Chalk Farm Rd 16:00 Chalk Farm tube station going up the hill, but at 18:50 they've turned around cos there is the Roundhouse on the right hand side, meaning they're going back down to Camden Market again.

Still hear the old clichés about feminism, next time someone says they're ugly I'll reference Viv, she's far from it and intelligent with it.
@tonybates78708 жыл бұрын
If you're a straight bloke and you like music by a woman you inevitably start musing on her looks and whether you'd go to bed with her. I had the same situation when I got into Laura Nyro's stuff 30-odd years ago. Kate Bush too. Sad, but there you are. Then again, straight women must get this all the time with musical men, surely? Why do girls buy records by guys they fancy, though? I can't believe all those girls that bought "Uptown Girl" by Westlife would have given a shit about Billy Joel's original, yet there's no difference - the Westlife version's a carbon copy. Weird. I think Viv's good looking but if I thought her records were shit that's all she'd be to me - an attractive woman. Viv - you look amazing for 61. And your songs are great. Not necessarily in that order of importance.

She gave me full permission to upload the footage but because she lost it in a heated discussion with the organiser during the Q and A session she then pulled her permission because she didn't want to look like a real idiot which she showed that she really was. Also said she has nothing to do with punk any more but she is still exploiting punk fashion with her shit sculptures. Hypocrite.
