Oh man, brutal beauty in action. In 50 years of watching cricket I've never enjoyed watching anyone bat so much. As it was so effortless for him he often seemed to play for fun rather than statistics. Stylish and technical brilliance underpinned by fantastic temperament and power.

INDIA DAMN GOOD BETWEEN 1983 AND 1987. THEY SHOULD HAVE WON 1987 WORLD CUP AND I AM STILL PISSED OFF. KAPIL GOING FOR HAPLESS SHOT WHEN MATCH WAS IN THE BAG!!! SRIKANT WITH GAVASKAR SMASHED ONE N ALL. ---------------- TILL MIANDAD CHANGED IT WITH THAT 666666666666!!!!!!!!!!!! ---------------- AND IT TOOK INDIA NEARLY 20 YEARS TO CHANGE THE PLATE( 2003 WORLD CUP) WHEN TENDULKAR PUNKED THE PAKISTANIS. ------------------ AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO BEAT INDIA BY PAKISTAN IN ONE DAY WORLD CUP. THEIR BEST CHANCE IS IF IT IS HELD IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY BUT THAT WILL ALSO ADD ADDITIONAL PRESSURE. ------------------- PAK WONT BE HOLDING ANY WORLD CUPS FOR MAY BE NEXT 20 YEARS!!! THEY MAY BE REGRETTING GOING OVERBOARD IN SHAR-JAH. ------------------- WORLD CUP COMES ONCE IN 4 YEARS AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT AND AGAIN LOSE. IT IS A MASSIVE PAIN AND MENTAL BLOCK!!! -------------------- TODAY AUSSIES WERE BOSSING BUT THAT IS BECAUSE INDIA LET THEM: INDIA HAD NO BUSINESS LOSING 1987,1995 AND 2003 WORLD CUPS AND THIS ONE 2023!!!!!!!! THEY HAVE GOOFED UP MILLION CHANCES.

Sir Viv Richatds was the best batsman 🏏among the best batsmen in the world👍🏼 having his own style of powerful shots all over the cricket field. NOT scared of any fast bowling attack and he NEVER wore a helmet whilst batting. He always displayed confidence of his batting strengths. During his time there was NO other batsman among the world Test cricketing nations (Except Graham Pollok of SA - No test status) to match or compete the skills of VIV RICHARDS. 👌🏻

It was a very low intensity innings as they were chasing a paltry 179. Never any pressure, and he was able to take a lazy 104 balls to reach 76, which is nearly 20% lower than his career strike rate. This innings would rank very low down on any list from Richards in either form of the game.

Vic Richards certainly is one of the greatest batsmen cricket has ever seen. Well done to him for punishing any bowler who tried to sledge him. In one case, after he had missed several balls, the bowler informed him “It is red, round and weighs about 5 ounces, in case you were wondering”. The next ball Vic Richards hit for 6, going so high that it went over the stadium and into a river. He then told the bowler “You know exactly what it looks like, now go and find it”. The perfect response to a sledge! I look forward to seeing the Viv Richards museum when I visit Antigua in March next year.

pitches uncovered, boundaries not brought in and more importantly against a ball which had a much pronounced seam. The disconcerting bounce and swing of the those balls were much more vicious than the ones we have today, the pads were heavier and the protective equipment’s were very basic to say the least. Compare the gloves used then and now!
