yep main reason they do this is to avoid the camera from clipping into bodyparts, some games removed most of the body while others just remove the head

@@mariuszmoraw3571 Skyrim doesn't have legs in first person, which is why mods like "Immersive first person view," "the joy of perspective," and "Improved Camera" exist to make it happen. This is most obvious to see when you realise that the player is never allowed to do an animation like sitting in first person, since it would make it blatantly obvious that the player has no legs or torso to be able to sit with.

Fun fact from gamedev industry: Usually players are kind of a "bean" shaped from the NPC perspective. We don't see it, bc the camera just clips through it, but there sure is a grey bean with hands just zooming through the land. This is just as terryfing as this video, but i thought some people might appreciate learning something while watching a funny video :3
