It's literally the worst souls game if you were to rank them. My top are Demon's Souls and Bloodborne. The Dark 1,2, & 3 in that order. Sekiro. Then Elden Ring. Not that it's a bad game but it is really for magic users. Heavy melee isn't a good fit unlike every souls game.

agility has nothing to do with endurance in general but theres nothing except 1 talisman in the game to boost ur roll ability. it makes ur roll i-frames more at the cost of reduced defense overall. endurance just increases ur stamina

@@jordancave3089 no it doesn't. There 7 to 8 spells at any time you can cast. Switching and deciding what to cast and what not to is not easy. It's pretty fun. You still have to dodge bosses anyway and time ur cast perfectly.

You can tell it's all most of them do because when you bloodhound step through the spell they have no other strategy so they start panic rolling. Although melee has it's issues as well, if you get caught in the weapon art for rivers of blood you're dead, full stop, no saving you. Drives me nuts.

I have the adula's greatsword which is a big ass magic sword if enemies come near. and loretta longbow for long range as well as the rock sling. It has long cast times. Magic is weak in PVP I know that and honestly, I don't care about PVP. Am a pure single-player guy. I am here to cut down bosses in the most enjoyable way possible and that's all I want to do. I play melee in 99% of games man. Elden ring seems to be the rare game where being a mage is fun. Don't spoil it for others.

Honestly, aside from Margit, I've had an easier time with my melee build than with my magic build. Pretty much everything is easier with a colossal weapon and/or faith. Magic works a lot of the time, but a lot of bosses just charge your face and prevent you from casting jack shit.

The difference is the 'easy modes' are not something selectable from a menu, but rather are mechanics built into the gameplay that when exploited make each title next to trivial to defeat. Still more representation for magic users, since its mostly just bennyhill theme of them running away from the boss while casting things, and just its constantly in a state of flee'ing, unless you use summons to distract. Magic in most cases depending if int, faith or, arcane. May take longer to finish off enemies. (Although you may be able to just plow through with overleveling a bit.) Tendencies thathappen as a caster is having less hp, means you have more damage, balancing Vigor, Mind, Int(Or Faith), and Endurance between each other efficiently. I needed only to worry about Vigor and Str and sometimes End when playing melee. (Stats can end up more widely spread up as a caster.) Not saying it's harder/easier for spellcasting. But bosses ultimately tend to be more aggressive on average when you're away from them. Unless you're using a specific summon to keep them taunted. Or you're severely overleveled. Tends to be exhausting.

I’ve played both melee and mage and I thought mage was more difficult since you are a hell of a lot less tanky. Honestly mages are just glass cannons so of course there are a lot of clips going around of mages just completely destroying bosses but that’s usually only best case scenario because you’re basically completely fucked if you’re not able to keep you distance from the boss because they’ll usually kill you long before you get a chance to heal since mages usually have such little health/defense. Also having to manage your FP bar makes bosses even more difficult along with the fact that you have to have more FP flasks meaning you can’t have as many HP flasks. But that’s just my opinion.

I think people forget that there is a charged melee and a jump heavy attack that does serious damage and will also stagger any boss if you get a few of them to hit consecutively, opening them up for a critical hit and another charged attack as they get back up, not to mention a mixed physick and talisman that will help to damage their poise. But nah "magic op cuz I don't use it and only losers do"

I started a mage. Got to 52. Started a samurai, got to 42. Went back to mage, found the melee practice with the samurai helped me with CQC when playing the mage. Dodging, parrying, and sword ability increased lots!
