She told me I would be billed the $6,000 to replace the "now broken door." The door was fine, the door didn't cost anywhere near $6,000, and in hindsight I wish I had quit them rather than deal with loads more b.s. from her. I feel for Alan, as I've walked the same horrid retail hell path.

Fortunately I devised a solution to it early on. Don’t even try. Refuse point blank to change my natural way of speaking no matter what. It did get me mocked for about 2-3 months but eventually everyone, even the bullies accepted it as one of my traits. More than worth it to spend the next 4 and 3/4 years free from figuring out dumb teenager trends.
