Chuck Todd asked Vivek Ramaswamy, in the wake of the Jacksonville shooting, what he'd do as president to combat racially-motivated violence in the country. Ramaswamy, says that the shooting is a symptom of a new form of national division that has been created and that we have obsessed so much over racial and genetic differences that we as Americans have forgotten that we are all in many respects the same given our national character and identity.
Later, CNN's Dana Bash asked Ramaswamy about his comments in response to Rep. Ayanna Pressley, who said in reference to him, "We don't need brown faces who don't want to be brown voices." Ramaswamy referred to Pressley and her remarks as being emblematic of the modern-day KKK. Ramaswamy stood by and defended his remarks.
