That harmonica is God-like. To be honest, I actually kind of prefer this version to the original. This is road trip music through and through. Half-hoping that he records this at some point. I also really have to point out how much I love that he sings the last line into his harmonica to make it sound like it's distorting and fading. God I love this man.

As much as I love the album version (as well as some other live versions), this one blows all the others out of the water. I was absolutely floored the first time I heard/saw this. Given that it's Justin Vernon, I shouldn't be surprised by the quality of anything he touches, but DAMN. This is what perfect music and musicianship sounds like.

Really enjoyed this. Gotta say, however, Calgary was always one of my favorite songs on the album because of its tribal-sounding toms and cymbal crashes. Can't help but feel that there was something missing in this. I guess there are certainly enough performances of the original version though.
@johnkelly35498 жыл бұрын
I'm the exact same, it's lovely and all that but not the best version.
@johnkelly35498 жыл бұрын
***** Duh, yeah, let's not analyse anything against anything else ever again! Miley Cyrus is JUST as good as Fleetwood. The Beatles side-bands had everything the Beatles had. St Anger would have been revelled if it was Metallica's first album. It's all the same! Get out of here.
@johnkelly35498 жыл бұрын
***** So wait, if you knew I was entitled to opinion and discussion, what made you talk such nonsense in the first place?
@smeltnight20028 жыл бұрын
I think John Kelly is going a little too far by saying you can make a comparison between Fleetwood Mac and Miley Cyrus. That is a little bit of a "contextual clusterfuck" as you say. Comparing two versions of the same song performed by the same artist is very different. In my opinion, that's a valid comparison to make. That's not what kept me from enjoying it, though. What kept me from enjoying this was how boring it was. I felt like he was going for aesthetic more than a good performance. And it didn't help that it was a song I knew well and liked.
@johnkelly35498 жыл бұрын
***** Discussion? You discussed fuck all, mate. You came in with a dodgy bit of rhetoric you read off a starbucks coaster.
