The star among stars. If you want to delve into women who arent white, how about the Puerto Rican beauty Rita Moreno? Called the Latin "Liz Taylor" she was far more beautiful than Liz the overrated. Today, one's looks can be changed. In the days of Vivian Leigh, true beauty was like finding a rare gem. No surgeries, veneers, hair weaves/extensions, contacts, personal trainers. Even the make up wasn't nearly like today's, with all the products to sculpt, hide and create features. It was simply an enhancement

Also, animals are used as compliments many times. Puppy eyes= Big cute eyes Doe-eyes= Big yet seductive eyes Swan-like neck= A long slender neck (a sign of beauty for women) Fox-faced= A face with exotic features, yet very attractive. Of course, animals can also be used as insults as you said. I’ve seen Hedy Lamarr fan mocking Gene Tierney and Vivien Leigh, where he said “Vivien’s face looks like a mouse”. They’re also people who use big animals like whales to make fun of people who are overweight (which I think is kind of excusable as we shouldn’t be glorifying obesity in any way).

Yes, you maybe right - at least from my point of view as a man. Keep in mind, great beauties fall into 3 different categories: 1. Athletic beauty (Katherine Hepburn, Sigourney Weaver) 2. Voluptuous Beauty (Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, Raquel Welsh) and 3. China Doll beauty (Vivien Leigh, Grace Kelly, Natalie Wood) Vivien was the best from category 3. All three categories actually have the same effect on us men. In "Waterloo Bridge", Vivien Leigh is so stunning I just watched with my jaw dropped the whole time - even though it was a 1940 version of a "chick flick."

PMA Judge I agree - IMO, I think (in no particular order) the MOST beautiful were: Vivien Leigh, Hedy Lamar, Merle Oberon, Gene Tierney and Elizabeth Taylor. I think the best actresses were Vivien Leigh and then Merle Oberon (not saying I am correct, just an opinion). They were all talented, extremely beautiful women. I also think Audrey Hepburn was beautiful and chic in a way no one else ever was. There are others, too: Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Maureen O'Hara, etc. I don't think we will ever see stars of that caliber again!
