I hear what’s being said about the cost of her clothes and receiving a damehood but I think she recognised that by making the money and getting the respect from the higher ups then she could have a loud voice for the causes she stood for. That’s a genius move, infiltrate the establishment and connect and influence the change that so many of us would never be able to do. I think she was incredibly talent and a true artist. Well done Vivian Westwood. RIP, girl. ❤

@ KkHarris, Vivienne Westwood was part of and working for the same goals as the Globalist's, they are all children of the devil, rebellion against God Almighty, worship of Earth, deciding that they are to be trusted and obeyed rather than God himself. Decieving and being decieved by Satan himself
@robertknight25562 жыл бұрын
But her 'causes' were just whatever was the flavour of the month, the current thing to protest about, and had no significant lasting value. It was all rather superficial and specious, unsustained over any length of time. She just found her niche, somewhat daft, somewhat eccentric, but no great harm in the Establishment.

35:36 Viv's advice worth listening to: "one truth is no more true than another" you saw the world differently 1 year ago, you saw the world differently 10 years ago, your opinions and feelings on things will continue to change and evolve. There are all these different points of view on the world and that's what art does for us. You can look at things from another perspective, told from a different point in time or in a context you might not have understood before. Get off the consumer treadmill and think for yourself.

Vivienne was an extraordinary woman; eccentric, yes, maybe a little crazy, but incredibly talented. She understood clothes and fabrics from the start. McLaren was clever too but not a nice character. But he started the ball rolling. Vivienne realised her talent through McLaren. But she was absolutely sincere in her beliefs. And those who thought her mad might wake up (woke - awful expression!) when they look at their TV screens and see the extent of the wild fires raging, even in Europe. Her designs were always outrageous, but well made; she didnt skimp on quality. Her beliefs seemed outrageous to many but maybe less so now? How many of us will go to our graves knowing that we actually made a difference? Vivienne used her wealth and talent to promote what she believed was right - and to highlight what she knew was wrong. (Like her friend Assange.) Unfortunately Vivienne got some bad publicity at one point, regarding use of interns in her business, but the financial side was down to someone called Carlos and Vivienne had no say in that side of the business, which ultimately, she probably regretted handing over to him.. In fact Vivienne gave vast sums of her own money to help save the rain forests. Sadly, today, the rain forests are still being decimated and along with burning of fossil fuels and wild fires, not to mention Putin's war on Ukraine, carbon emissions seem to be more rampant than ever. But lust for money, and power apparently blind some to the future of the planet. Dont they have children? Dont they care what chaos they are leaving to them?

I especially love her innovation & I admire her drive to become something more with her work. She had a lot of luck too, Malcolm M helped direct her into her success. I think she paid for that ticket by putting up with him. I don't think she was an activist at the end of life. It rings like a false coin when you are so rich and don't donate a majority of your wealth. She just seemed bored with fashion directing and is now elderly and looking for something to do that makes her feel young again.

Don’t really understand what Westwood was rebelling about. She had a secure home life, a working class upbringing, which is popular for being down to earth. Her parents were supportive of her. I don’t know why she wanted so much social change. She obviously had some kind of aimless rebellion, which perhaps gave her a reason to be enthusiastic about something…..

Just because one is born into a privileged or middle class doesn’t mean that one cannot understand power imbalance and try to speak to that. It’s actually necessary for those people who have connections to speak because those messages otherwise wouldn’t be heard. None of us can do anything about the status we were born into, but it’s necessary that we all try to lift up those with the least amount of power.

I know what you mean. I was thinking that, myself. I'm sure her fashions were part of what inspired my fashion sense, in the '80s, as a teen. I can appreciate her talent as a fashion designer. She should stick to that. Imagine that in 8 years that we will be gone because of "climate" change. The science on climate is debatable(if we would allow debate). I remember back in the early seventies the scientific prognosticators proclaimed that by now we would be crossing the continents by ice bridges....look at how that turned out. I can appreciate her talent but her position comes from a point of wealth and privelege. It's like Bono ofU2 with his fashion brand selling organic grown cotton with natural dyes that cost over $45. That allows the well heeled moralist to wear their proverbial morality on their sleeves (pun intended). In the absence of truth and real spiritual conviction we worship and find cause in the creature and the creation and avoid the Creator.

So basically, you are saying she should remain the seamstress that MacLaren once stated was all she was. That her ideals for this planet are beyond her, being the weaker sex and all. That she would be best served hunched over a sewing machine and not speaking out against the establishment. You may as well say, “she should remain in the kitchen, where women belong”. This is not true to her most authentic self and I for one feel very passionate about the idea that women should constantly speak out and constantly keep, those who have been set up as rulers, accountable. So you don’t agree with her stance regarding climate change … fine … no need to continue this idea of oppression of women and the silencing of our voices. We are legion and we will not be silenced. Not by you, not by anyone. You sir need to take a seat.
