Glad you mention tech details like the bitrate or the widevine lvl so we tech enthusiasts can make sure it's worth it or not. Most youtubers don't bother and they glorify Chinese brands without telling these things to their audience, the viewers end up losing when they buy the device and discover it's not as great as it looked

I try to cover what I would want to know if I bought it. I would hate to find out the audio bitrate is low or L3 widevine etc. Others skip it because they aren't very technical or want to keep the brands happy and review units rolling.

been loving your reviews so much! Very honest and detailed. I love how you don't go off the aura light or how top tier the camera is, most reviewer does that too much. I'm torn between the Honor 90 and this Vivo v29. I'm curious to know which one do you is better to get? One thing I doubt about v29 is that for some reason lots feature has been cut.

A very nice offering from Vivo! The 778g chipset is a solid cool running chip for sure👍. But the big let downs are the single mediocre speaker and the not so great 8 mp ultra wide! Totally agree Chris this definitely should be a step down in price! Considering what's on offer at 500 euros in this segment!

Performance is good but the 8MP again and single loudspeaker is a shame. But very nice front facing camera. Even beats some flagships *cough* Xiaomi flagships with 1080p front cameras.

Decent phone. I would place a mid-range at 400€ tops...but my opinion doesn't count 😅 I don't understand why Vivo placed that nonsense Ultra wide camera, considering it's so dumbed down. Audio hopefully could be fixed, but I don't understand why devs don't check the sound quality prior the release of the phone, because Xiaomi used to do this way before Vivo.

Yes Realme is winner of the "best among the rest" group. Solid VFM. Good SOCs, decent cameras, UI is palatable and mostly stable. Last point is a big deal in budget and mid premium segment cause UIs start crashing and stutturing after 1 years in many other brands. My go to suggestion is realme GT series released few months earlier as they drop in prices by then

I think this is a IP68 Water and Dust resistant too. But in this price range there is alot of options to find yeah in terms of design this definitely wins among others but lacking of stereo speakers though is kinda disappointing Vivo also cut some features that the other have like the color changing back, but tbh this is so good phone if you into a selfie or love to shoot a video using the selfie because it supports 4k like you can use it on your Tiktok. 14:52

As much as I love the SD778G... its 2023. Support for this chipset is counting down sooner and there are many other newer options these days. The newer gen SD7 series and even SD4 series are comparably better and more modern. Apps and games system requirements are growing fast and the 778G is just not going to cut it long term anymore. I would be perfectly fine if phones like this are priced lower to compensate but the 778G phones are still priced at a "premium" (relative to other midrangers).
