Hard to believe some of these are made with a smartphone. Like the picture @3:05 for example (the other ones are obviously amazing as well!). The soft texture on the car and slight blooming effect is something I would expect from my DSLR. It's way more pleasing than what my iPhone 12 Pro Max produces, seriously impressive. I love that there are options for all these different processing modes!

The shots of Clarke Wolfe are absolutely stunning. The depth of field is so beautiful there. Waiting for the Mi 12 Ultra before I make any decisions. Sony is still at the top of my list right now with the IV even though they haven't learned how to properly launch a phone yet.

TBH, next Vivo X Pro series phone will not be one of the best camera phone, but simply the best. A lot of manufacturers dropped the ball, but Vivo kept on improving and got to a point, I would almost ditch Pixel for Vivo when it comes to photography on the go. One of the best features on Pixels is consistency ... and Vivo pretty much stole the crown. Not to mention manual modes, that in my eyes, made Sony pretty much obsolete.

Another fab video; like others, I'm looking forward to Part 3. It's amazing how much cameras on smartphones have evolved the past 5 years or so. I wonder/hope that Sony do the same collaboration with you for their Xperia I IV; even though over here in the UK we're getting the 256Gb version, unlike you guys/ladies stateside who have the 512Gb

The question to be answered in my opinion is: Are the cameras of the Vivo X80 Pro the perfect combination of Auto-IA shooting like the Pixel 6 Pro and the pro features of a Sony Xperia Phone? I really hope Juan goes deep to answer that question.

@@silva_br1 it doesn't need to have everything from both worlds to be a perfect combination. To me is impossible to have everything in just one phone.

Hi Juan, have been binging your videos lately, as I'm trying to decide on a new phone strictly for stills... and now I'm more confusred than ever. 😂Hadn't even considered the Sonys. If you were a photographer who only cared about capturing the most natural-looking, best quality RAW stills with the most latitude/DR (to be edited in Capture One, Lightroom, or ACR later), which phone would you go with at this point? I have been leaning toward the Xiaomi 12s, but...
@SomeGadgetGuy2 жыл бұрын
It's tough. I wouldn't recommend just one. It REALLY depends on your shooting style, but at least acknowledging that you're going RAW, a 12S Ultra is likely going to deliver the best "pure" RAW data for that huge sensor. A Vivo will give you some incredible output, and you'd have the option of shooting an auto bracket with merged DNG info using SuperRAW. Sony is a solid option in this space, but I'd be leaning on Sony more if you knew you needed the best AF and subject tracking, or you were interested in shooting 4K120 video.
@sethcashman10112 жыл бұрын
@@SomeGadgetGuy Thanks for the reply! VERY helpful, but yes, tough. I am a photographer (portraits, landscapes, nightscapes, stage performance) and basically want the best, most detailed, most camera-like RAW file available in a pocket device. I hadn't thought about it before you mentioned it, but, yes, reliable AF would be a plus, though subject tracking isn't entirely necessary. So I was leaning toward the Xiaomi, but perhaps not if the AF sucks. The Vivo's SuperRAW feature sounds truly amazing (I've watched a couple of your videos wherein you go into to detail about it), but my question would be, is it too slow to be practical for many situations (a la pixel shift)? It sounds as though where we are with smartphone cameras right now is where we were with DSLRs/mirrorless cameras not all that long ago, when there was no truly all-in-one workhorse which excelled in every area. Anyway, thanks again!
@SomeGadgetGuy2 жыл бұрын
At the tier your shopping, nothing really "sucks" LOL. Xiaomi and Vivo autofocus is quite good, but the Sony is better, especially for people and pets. Vivo's SuperRAW is useful anywhere you'd shoot a bracket or "super resolution" photo from a mirrorless. You wouldn't shoot action with a bracket. Ditto SuperRAW. Based on what you're describing, I'd be inclined to lean towards a 12S Ultra. I think you'd also appreciate the larger telephoto sensor over something like Sony or Vivo. The lack of SUPER processed Night Modes and skynet style eye tracking are a BIT of a bummer, but it sounds like you're experienced enough to make up those tech differences. Focus Peaking for the win right?

Any suggestion how to fix shit skin tones when filming? I have no problems with photos on x80 pro, but the vids..... overall good colors and contrast, bit overexposed, but the skin tones....... they turn out to be flat, like badly done HDR to be honest, and I can't seem to be able to fix it (well one option was to turn down exposure by 0.7 EV but damn, really?)
