True that. For the price they should at least include adjustable connectors. Like the other light Shane reviewed where the outer bars can be extended and angled. Although that light seemed pretty dodgy with its diode spacing and covering

Peterxyz, What you said is somewhat true. I grow in the SOG. My plants are a little less then 2 inchs apart. If I don't have diodes over every plant, growth suffers dramatically. Even if a plant is as little as a quarter inch away from the diodes. It will only grow half as big as the plants under the diodes. So if I used a bar light. Where the bars are 6 inchs apart. I would end up with like 10 plants that can't grow properly. So tell me what is more of a waste of resources. Having light that projects it's light that doesn't have enough par in it to grow anything properly. Or a little, so called, hot spot that will make your plants grow like a weed, which they are.

I would love to see the numbers on just one in a 2x2 tent and 2 in a 2x3 just to see how they do. It was obviously designed to be used that small and I really like that about this system. One in a 2x2 or 2 in a 2x4 or 4 in a 4x4. Really convenient for growers to start small and grow with their plants and desires and knowledge. Nice to not spend $2500 and find out it’s just too time consuming or not a hobby that you really want to invest much in or many other scenarios.

I´ve remembered something and am curious about your thoughts. Do you know what happened to plasma grow lights? Their PAR output was insane, sensors kept erroring underneath one of those lamps because they were most likely far above 2000mol and a 1000W lamp was good for 2x2m with +1000PPFD (supposly). I know the spectrum sucked for cannabis/ chillis and so on, they´re still available but look exactly like when they came out and if nothing was ever improved. I´m asking because I´m curious about the tech behind and why it seem to had failed even there´re a lot of other usecases the plasma spectrum would be good for. And they´re still grow lamps.

The fan blows down towards the canopy, why? Heat rises, air exhausts at the top of every tent. Air intakes are always at the bottom. Why wouldn't the fan blow upwards? Why would you want the hot air blowing into the canopy opposite the direction of circulation?

“Apparently” the design won a Red Dot award for balanced temperature and humidity. They must’ve tested with extra fans circulating from underneath. Cos i don’t see how this design alone can balance heat if it’s just gonna keep blowing it back down every time it rises.

My HLG 600 I find the boards are placed too close together so I add 2 spider farmer panels to the tent , push it to one side and turn it down a touch. My MIGRO Array 8 is also very efficient but I feel it could use a few more watts for a 120 tent. I hang a Mars hydro sp150 in-between them and it seems to do the trick for me. The spacers between the lamps are way too short, the lamps all have to be further away from eachother like this they´re kind of wasting effifency. If they were more spaced out there wouldn´t be +1100mol in the center while the entire side is around 400. With more space for the lamps they should be able to get the center more around 1000 and the sides to around 700.

From my experience running this fan I haven't seen any issue with heat being passed into the canopy. From what I can tell, the heat is pretty well dissipated away from the system. And of course humidity becomes a lot less of a problem as air is recycled within the tent, meaning air passes out the sides of the ventilation, regardless of the fan being in the center of the fan. It seems like a lot of comments about this are from people who don't actually use the fan.
@freedom_born
@freedom_born Жыл бұрын
You don’t want air recycled! You want fresh air exchange from bottom to top… and of course it dissipates heat away from the fan - *BUT* that heat is directed toward the canopy. So unless you know what adequate leaf surface temps are, then you’re unnecessarily forcing extra heat to leaf surface so the plant has to work harder. Lol dissipating “away” from the system isn’t the issue Hammy, and you don’t want recycled air circulating the tent!

@Kristof Somers Funnily enough they say the fans last 70,000 hours. Meanwhile the light (diodes) are only meant to work for 50,000. Is there a video on here which shows the par of 2 Units side by side at different distances apart, or a reference anyone has to calculate it? I would find it super interesting to see what the PAR output is with this same unit, but with the gaps between the 4 smaller units opened by a few inches, and then a few more until there a very even spread with less hot spot. And then what effect on that even spread would mylar do to the reading, is it not possible to make nearly every part of the room roughly 500par +/-10% at a certain height?

More even light distribution should definitely be possible and would seriously elevate the value of this light fixture. No point to use these fans. Use regular size fans to get good air flow instead of sharing power/adding another power supply for the fans as a result of a higher price because of a redesign or some mounting brackets. You can just make it urself in a week by adding fans and making some platform for it. But I don't understand the downward flow, why would you need that?
