I bought this light at Xmas…paid $250..I put it in a 3x3 tent and have been happy with my grow so far..Did a lot of research and this light is a good bang for your grow budget….I already have a FCE 4800 Mars Hydro in a 4x4 and it’s doing excellent with my 4 Blue Dream Autos (Day62)..Big frosty, sticky buds..I have had ,any board lights but since switching to bar lights I have seen better results on my outer edges perimeter because of the more even light and par distribution…

Really appreciate all your videos regarding lighting, while I have watched all your videos and reviews in recent months on different lighting, I'm curious what your suggestions would be on just simply starting seeds? For a home garden? I may have also missed something in your recommendation speaking about that. Thanks so much!
@Albopepper3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Cameron! For seed starting, I would match the light to the growing space. Is it a window sill, a wire shelf, or a table top? Different form factors of lights are suited for different spaces. Either way, I would certainly go with some decent quality LEDs, not fluorescent or HIDs. And select a light intensity appropriate for seedlings. That means PPFD levels from 200 to 500 umols, depending on plant type and light cycle.
@cameronjohnson67653 жыл бұрын
@@Albopepper That makes sense! I guess it will be on a wire shelving unit or a table top. It can be very overwhelming trying to pick a light given variety of lights out there.

I just bought a SZHLUX PT4000 bar light...still waiting on it, should be in today...I bought it before doing a ton of research & the more research I do, the more worried I am about what's going to show up here...I have no way to test this light to find out what it'll do & if it was worth buying it...could you do a review on the SZHLUX lights? All the flowers and small papaya drop off the tree before they are ripe and the one that do get ripe is smaller than what i used to harvest. Some of the trees also just straight up die without any prior signs, both the old and young ones. Any tips?

So am I assuming you suggest this company for bars lights? Thank you for your videos. I constantly rewatch them. I’m only growing one plant. I’m using a grow light someone gave me and it has no information and no brand name printed on it anywhere. Better to be safe than sorry I think I aliens replace it. Hey if you ever had time and resources it would be cool to see your thoughts on the Barrina full spectrum grow lite bar from Amazon (comes in a 2ft and 4ft version). Mr. Pepper i have another question please, how does it come that the samsung Diodes Lm 281+ and the 301s are so close to each other in efficiency? On paper the 301B and H put out a good amount of extra light with the same power (I think something like 30%), but in reality and in Tests, a decent lamp with Lm281s is maybe 10-12% less efficient only. And the price for the 301s is 10-14 times as much as the older 281. A 281+ diode is actually only 1 cent when you buy a pack of 4000 pcs. By the way, id like you to test some really cheap lamps. There are interesting panels on Ali express, like a 100W panel with 336 LM281+ diodes for only 40eu. No heatsink and no dimming, but a lot of diodes and id like to know if such a lamp can hold up with the Viperspectra P1000 for example. I wouldnt be surprised at all if it does.

@@Albopepper Oh no :( Do you have recommendations for hooded grow lights? would be cool if you could do a video about them, seems like the options are scarse and for someone like me growing open at home those hoods are important...
@melangkoh41843 жыл бұрын
Hello Mister. If LED are more efficient when underpowered, wouldnt it be much more efficient to run 2 100Watt-Growlights at only 50% Power instead of a single 100Watt Light at full power? As i understand, LEDs lose efficiency pretty dramatically the more power goes through them. I think with this method even cheaper diode boards like the older LM281 would be more efficient than even the best diodes. Because the difference is actually not that big of a deal between different diodes,
@Albopepper3 жыл бұрын
In concept that seems to make sense. But in practice, the lights don't have a huge boost in efficacy when dimmed. You could compare these 2 reports for the same light with Samsung diodes & Mean Well driver: albopepper.com/ATREUM_HYDRA-1000_Report_20210402.pdf albopepper.com/ATREUM_HYDRA-1000_Report_DIMMED.pdf Even when dimmed to 1/5 the power, the light still had the same PPE.
@melangkoh41843 жыл бұрын
@@Albopepper thats weird. I have seen a couple of people describing now that LEDs lose efficiency, the more you power them up. guess i have to wait until i have my own lghtmeter/PAR meter.
