I'll be doing a review of the A5X2 when that comes out, so we'll see how that goes. But I don't see this device replacing my Supernote. For example, the fact that it can only tag a page does not fit well with my workflow where I mark to-dos as I take notes with the star-marking system. So, for me, the question is how do I find this device for taking notes at home where I'm doing more creative writing/thinking. Time will tell!

Good overview, I am really interested in your final impressions. I might disagree with you that this is more of a reMarkable competitor. I think you are right that it is competing with them on price, but it seems like design wise and ecosystem wise, it is more between Supernote and Boox to me. Well done as always my friend.

Jeffrey, is there a way to clear background apps on the AI Paper ? I can long press on a google app, and " Clear Data " I assume that is removing the app from the background, and improving RAM. Any dedicated way like a Boox tablet ?

Yes. If you long press the center haptic button, a task manager screen will come up.

Hey! Does this feel like pen on paper (like the supernote) or is it more of a pencil on paper feel?

That's hard to say, but I guess I'd go with pen on paper. It certainly isn't scratchy like pencil on paper.

this thing looks good. I hope it can multitask notes and pdf reading well. The older Mobiscibe had the ability to associate a note in the pdf app, but mine newer mobiscribe can't, and the newer mobiscribe can't switch quickly in and out of notes. I'm interested in doing math study from pdfs so annotation isn't enough,

I'll be taking a close look at the PDF reading/annotating functionality. My early impressions are that they are ok, but there are some limitations there.

Not sure if I need another device. I primarily use my RM2, and Boox Go 10.3 for writing, and use the Boox Go 10.3 a bit more now. It's a newer device, and just like it better, now that I am used to the UI. However, I am open to another device, so will be keeping an eye on your updated videos.I was thinking of purchasing the new Remarkable Paper Pro, but I asked myself why ? I don't need the color, and don't want a larger device, so in my case, I won't order it, plus it's very expensive when you add up the cover and pen. Thanks for your videos, you're presentation skills are excellent. ( I wish you had a little more light on the device when presenting, but no biggie )

When I am in the kindle app and swipe down using the stylus pen from the top right, it will bring up the menu 'crop-annotate-record'. When I choose annotate it quickly flashes the annotate menu bar up top then goes away. From what I understood, it would take a screenshot, let me annotate, then save it to the screenshot section in pickings...but it doesn't work. Anyone else having this problem?

I have the same problem, and it's also an issue on the Mini. The annotate feature seems to work elsewhere, like in Chrome or Kobo. Although I'm also having log-in issues with Kobo, so I can only test that on the home screen on the 10"er (the mini I'm logged in and annotate works on Kobo fine).

@@jeffreymoss I emailed viwoods customer support and within about an hour they emailed me back requesting a video showing the problem. I did that and within 24 hours they replied with the folliwing… “Thank you for your quick response and for sending over the video. We appreciate your effort in helping us diagnose the issue. We have noted the problem, and we will address it in the next update. An OTA fix will be included in version V3.0.5, which is expected to be released by the end of October. Thank you for your patience and support. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out! Best regards, Viwoods Service Team” Pretty impressed with their customer service and their quick response to my concern.

@@myost33 That's great to hear. Are you having any issues with some of your button pushes not registering? I'm having a bit of an issue with that. I wonder if that will be fixed in that update as well?

@@jeffreymoss Now that you mention it, yes. At first, I didn’t know if I just wasn’t pressing it firm enough or what, but I do find myself maybe having to press the “home“ button and the “back” button a couple of times before it registers. This isn’t every time, but it happens enough to be noticeable. I just got my unit yesterday and I’ve only spent enough time to get it set up and poke around a little bit. I also have the mini on order which I guess is coming sometime in November.

@@myost33 Yeah, I'm finding that if I focus and am deliberate with my presses, it's pretty reliable, but anything less than that is a bit variable. I'm also seeing that the drop down trey will respond to my swipe most of the time, but will miss at least once every 5 tries. In terms of the haptic buttons, I'm thinking that was a design choice given feedback about pressing the buttons inadvertently, so hopefully I will just adjust and it will be fine.

I'm very interested in this device for use in university but i have a question, do you think It can be connected to a projector ? Maybe with a usbc to HDMI adaptor ?

I doubt it with a physical connection, but there is a casting option where you can cast to any device on the same wifi network as long as the receiving device has a web browser.

Great call out! That was an error on my part. I think I was thinking about other Boox devices when I said that. There is no expansion slot for the Go 10.3.
