Glad it helped some people. I tried every method for powering on, a dozen times and sometimes it's just burned out. I spoke to a tech at Vizio and told him I'd done all the methods for troubleshooting. TV was 11 years old. Time to shop for a Samsung, not going to mess with the motherboard.

11 years, at least you gotten some of your money's worth. Less than 1year and came home from work turned it on and it was dead,tried all the little tricks and thought hey I never had this problem with my old set I am so glad I didn't trash it back to the converter box and All my favorite shows on DVD.

@@thestay-at-homemomma1071 I have an older school HD 32” Vizio tv and it still works perfect but, I hardly watch it since I got a smart tv a few years ago. The smart tv is hell. It’s slow as fuck to come on and switch to different apps, sound sucks, picture sucks unless it’s a 4K movie. WiFi never worked so, it is a wired connection to get use of the smart features. I would gladly buy another Nonsmart “dumb” tv because it seems to be their smart TVs that suck.

Thanks much! Very helpful! I would just say if you need to go to second solution with resetting the remote be sure any HDMI devices that are plugged into the back of the tv are unplugged BEFORE you do the remote reset, it didn't solve the problem until I did this.

Thank you so much for your solutions. I knew it wasn’t the batteries and there are absolutely no on/off or anything on the back of the monitor. PLUS, I can find absolutely no record of having purchased the Vizio system, nor any booklist on setting it up!! Most of the videos about getting it started point to on/off switch in back OR taking the whole thing apart and deciding what to do - motherboard or electrical issue. ARRGGHHH. I’m too old for this. Oh my gosh.. thank you so much for your video.. it helped my problem in my bedroom I couldn't get it to come on I wouldn't do nothing.. unplugging it for 60 seconds it worked.. we have Vizio TVs all to our house I am getting so fed up with them all they do is shut off for no reason.. our next TV will not be a Vizio trust me... I like the pictures but I do not like the problems they give us.. I still don't understand why they shut off for no reasons right in the middle of a damn show.. i have changed the power board - still no turn on. i have changed the main board - still no turn on. if i jumper the 5V from main board connector to power board connector to 12v pin the back lights come on flashing. have not seen this in a video yet... help!?!?!?

@@vdussaut9182 it helps to disable a bunch on inputs on the input menu so it doesn't take so long to scroll through. Doing a reboot where you take the batteries out of the remote and unplug the tv for a full 60 seconds seems to clear up a host of bugs that accumulate in the buffers, too. There is one other thing I may have done but I can't remember atm.
