You'd think that a pokemon that was based on a hammer head shark and jet plane would have a mega that would make those traits more exaggerated. I just think GF had no idea what to do with it, and made this garbage heap as aa result.

Benefits: Becomes a lot bulkier, can ACTUALLY use mixed sets and special attacks it normally wouldn't use like Fire Blast, and is a DEMON on Sand. Disadvantages: You're giving away your mega slot for an overall worse Garchomp thanks to the -10 speed points. And if you want a mega that abuses Sand, Tyranitar is there.

Life orb regular garchomp is stronger, faster and doesnt burn your mega. Mega chomp is not an upgraded garchomp, it is just a different mon that is not worth the mega slot.

for those of you who want to know how mega-chomp would do. in National dex on showdown (all tools except dynamax are available), mega-chomp is OU viable thanks to both sticky web teams as well as scale shot. i used it a lot along with d-dance haxorus and z-soulblaze kommo-o. it should be noted that pokemon that have either a mega stone or a Z-crystal could not use dynamax (while it was legal) or terrestalization. it could become possible in future game's, but i highely doubt that.

Guys mega garchomp is bigger than normal garchomp and doesn't have that same aerodynamic body-shape anymore it *obviously* can't be as fast as normal garchomp, plus 92 speed is still better than a majority of the tiers it was in Also it's been over 10 years now, you guys can stop malding about the *10* drop to Garchomp's speed, it's not that bad

He can be extremely strong if combined with Tailwind and Sandstorm, teaming him with Skarmory or Gliscor and this way you will have a mon with the equivalent of 184 speed and 170 attack, and his Earthquake and Rock Slide will have 50% more damage, so a Stab with 150 base power combined with 170 base attack with a speed of 184 is extremely strong, you can also use mons like Shedinja with Baton Pass, If I remenber well this strategy wasn't/became banned in Gen 6

Its not just the speed. The atk increase is just not enough to outdmg regular chomp with an attack boosting item. The ability is bad. Compare it to heracross which also becomes slower but its atk goes up to 185 AND it gets skill link.

It has on of the highest base stat totals in all of pokemon with arceus have 720 mega garchomp has 20 less base stat then arceus but if it had its normal speed it would be 710

Cabt hold an item tho and wastes the megaslot. One cannot compare a mega to a regular mon. They have to make up for the draw backs of mega evolution. And this mon just can't it was an UU-mega at best with an OU base form.
