Thats cool you should make an online spreadsheet stats of these with many controllers. Also would be nice if you included stick button tension!

thank you. im a fan of lower tension and im always wishing i could have some basis in this from controller reviews.

Its crazy I found this video an hour after you posted because its exactly what I was looking for. I find the tension of the PS4 controller to be the perfect tension and recently got the cyclone 2 and felt it was ever so slightly lighter, your testing proves its about 5-10 gf lighter. It would be a huge help to my OCD if you could measure what tension I should set my Vader 4 Pro to match my PS4 controller. I believe it starts at 40gf and each notch is 5gf. As for which is better for testing its hard to say. Whatever gives you consistent results would probably be the better choice.

Analogue is definatly best if your higher percision one works when you get it. You can use the digital to record your numbers or check if you scales are off.

like you suggested - digital for sticks (and maybe analogue triggers), and analogue one for all kind of buttons

I like the digital more , this was very informative since i have some of the controllers shown here i can relate to the numbers . personally i am not sure if the 60 g or 40 g is better , they both work well for me . yes theoretically less tention should let you start moving quicker , but in reality 60 works well too and we keep moving the stick most of the time and do micro movement only when we reach the target , and exactly around the center there are other factors like, is the tention at the very start a bit harder or a bit loose ? , even the smallest areas matters here. then we have the deadzone and how big it is , and we also have some games ramp up the speed from almost zero towards the center and even add an ingame deadzone that doesn't have an option to remove it, and here i compensate the deadzone with a negative number so i can make first movement something that i can work with.

40 for no kontrol freeks 60+ with.

@@Ricolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I think i get what mean , getting the sticks higher will make it as if the sticks have less tension but physical travel distance is higher so you get better control .

As you showed, it seems to make sense to use both.

Oh wow i love this Didnt think about measuring the button presses It would be cool if you do that in indivisual reviews too!
@ExiledAlchemist21 сағат бұрын
Use both that way you can show the visual resistance, and use the digital for the accurate readings.

digital for analog, and needle for buttons. u should make whole spreadsheet now.. including Triggers button tension for racing games.

Use Both

I know it is more work, but I think it would be perfect if in the video you showed the analog one being used, to visualize better the tension thanks to the needle moving, while at the same time you display the maximum tension taken from the digital, to have an exact value to compare to other controllers.

I'm interested in whether analog sticks have the same tension in the diagonal directions as the cardinals. I think some sticks have a bias to the cardinal directions so they make it harder to cleanly press the diagonals.

I'm thinking this dual approach using each one for buttons or sticks makes the most sense

Lower tension is the best for 2D and action games!

I like analog more, easier to see the difference. Now the people at r/controller can shut up about "HE cAuSeS sTiCkS tO bE lOoSe" nonsense!

Primarily analog, and digital when needed

Dá pra usar o digital pra medir a força que precisa ser aplicada pra clicar o analógico, esse é um bom teste pois tem controles horríveis de clicar o analógico de tão duros.

Man i think its no only tensión. Potentiometer inside rub when u move the stick, hall effect doesnt rub any part and feel hollow, i think that Matter too

Brother make a video about vedar 4 pro using in older model phones ....when it is in flash mode the right analog stick doesn't work for me properly
