Pro Controller Fake Vs Original - How to tell the difference

Nice video but there are many wrong statements: I have both a half 2018 and a half 2023 original controllers , both standard black and I opened them to check inside (same board as shown by you and HD rumble). The 2018 doesn't have the marks on the left handle but still has a flat spot in the same place without the dots of the texture, also the text and logos on the back (the one of your scratch test) protrude, meanwhile on the 2023 are engraved. I think you can't really tell without opening.

So what are you saying? If you only have one switch pro controller it’s harder to compare and know if it’s legit or not.

@@zojirushi1 Since I have two originals I can safely say that the two things I pointed out aren't things that help distinguishing a fake from original, so those two statements in the video are wrong

@@Justeego apparently there are some fake switch pro controllers that now have been able to get the update controller firmware update too. And nfc feature. So basically are very very very close to official one. Or some are official switch pro (inner components) but with the (exclusive shell as a fake copy that is reshelled.) These fake switch pro controllers are getting more complex each day. Only way to know if it’s real is the hd rumble. The cheap ones won’t use the real part since it’s too expensive. Only the original will have it. So you do have to open it. What’s the best way to open the controller? Screw driver?

It has the same results as the original It uses the same potentiometer sticks

@@VKsChannel Seems like a good way to know is to hold the right analogue stick down and flash a light to see the text on the board (thx 2 all the game fans)... If it reflects gold, it's an original gamepad.

They're painted teal, its not glow in the dark or anything

Some types of pro controller cannot be updated, I say this because I have several that cannot be updated and they are original

They are still produced in japan These are the japanese versions of the controller

Update and serial number are reliable ways too but some fake ones can read amiibos too I've focused on physical ways to identify it
