Overflight of the D-Day beaches to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day, in a VL3, from Sword to Sainte-Mère Eglise, via the artificial port of Arromanches and the Pointe du Hoc, i.e. all the beaches of Operation Overlord.
I took the opportunity to give my co-pilot a few historical explanations of what happened on 6 June 44 for the Americans, British and Canadians. Mainly about the port of Arromanches and its Phoenix caissons, which are still clearly visible.
We landed in Deauville with a strong crosswind and had lunch in Trouville.
