@johnjohnherreraАй бұрын
That question is so inappropriate ( I’m from the hood and never used that term ). Carlos Said alot of stupid stuff but vlad asked if he being molested caused him to be gay …are you asking cause you know he’s gay ? …being molested does not determine or increase a person's likelihood of being gay. Sexual orientation is a complex aspect of a person's identity and is generally understood to be influenced by a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental factors, not by isolated traumatic events. Being molested is a traumatic experience that can lead to emotional, psychological, and behavioral consequences, but it does not change or cause someone's sexual orientation. If you or someone else is struggling with the aftermath of such an experience, professional support from a therapist or counselor can help with healing and processing the trauma.but vlad making facts up .

Believe it or not some people have turned out a certain way from terrible situations like this. I knew a girl in my neighborhood that went through that and when she's in intimate situations she likes being choked and forcefully held down because of that horrible experience. Same with a childhood friend,that happened to him and he ended up liking guys later on when he was fully straight before that. I think it's a legit question. That's the same as asking a true gang member or leader why they became that person and when asked it's because of the traumatic experiences they went through as a kid or teen that made them who they are. Not all but some.
@calres8626Ай бұрын
Honestly, as someone from California and the mindset of a Mexican gang member at that time…Kind of in line with what Carlos was saying. In the 80s and 90s if you joined a Mexican gang you knew you were going to get into violence. As crazy as it sounds we took pride in not being loud mouths but just taking action. Opposite of what goes on today. We were realistic knowing we’re going to end up dead or in prison. As people were dying left and right. So, it’s not necessarily you were aspiring-although there were those knuckleheads that did. It was more having an understanding in this environment will end up spending life in prison if we survive. When that day comes the only next best thing is to move up the chain. Even understood may take a bid for something we didn’t do. Part of playing ball. Blacks in particular don’t really have that organization/chain of command in California. Same with a few other ethnic backgrounds. So, once locked up not really anything else to “aspire” too. Long story short stay in school, get a job and live a normal life.

valid points in regard to the lack of Latinos in movies, I think it’s a matter of Latinos playing different ethnicities for example - Ricardo Montalban, Rita Hayworth, and Linda Carter I had no idea of their ethnicity. The first time I remember seeing actors portraying Latinos, was probably in the series “Chico and the man” and Eric Estrada in the series CHIPS.
