Have you ever been able to find Horowitz playing any other Medtner piece than the A maj Fairytale?

It's easy to overlook Op.8 No.8, but return to it for another listen and you will meet music unequalled in its blend of mystery and utter tenderness joined to extraordinary melancholy and an emotional twilight.

First time I hear him play op 8 no 1. Brilliant. Some voices shown, I have not heard in other interpretations.
The playing of the f sharp minor....enchanting...ibid the A flat....he played nr.11 at his 1953 anniversary recital

In the year 2020, there is still nothing quite as exquisite as listening to a masterful performance of piano works by Alexander Scriabin.

As I listen to this, I'm reminded how creative VH could be, and one gets the feeling of his ability to re-compose the pieces and make them very idiomatic. He becomes so original, that the creative process is like an equal collaboration between performer and composer. The interpretations are kaleidoscopic. An amazing talent. I heard him in NY on several occasions.

Wonderful playing! Flexible, sensuous, colourful, the melodies so beautifully inflected. Bravo!

Very rare recording! Except for d#, the other etudes are not his main repertories. Thanks for your uploading.

#2, 8, 10, 11, (and 12, which was very much in his repertoire at various periods in his life) are all on the CBS/Sony Scriabin album, so there are available performances by Horowitz. #1 however, never appeared on any of Horowitz' albums, and that's the one piece that's a real rarity here...

@@emilgilels I knew I recognized some of these recordings! The studies you mentioned are all on a disc labeled, "Late Russian Romantics," on the CBS/Sony set. The CD tracks are slightly studio-doctored though, particularly no. 11. This upload give us the performances as they were played.

Were some of these released on the Late Russian Romantics disc of one of the Horowitz boxsets? The playing is very similar. Perhaps they were recorded around the same time. Thanks in advance!
