Just last night, I asked the Lord to reveal my character to me... to show me what displeases Him so I can work on that and NOW, the first thing that comes up when I open YT is this! I feel saddened that I have let laziness in my character ruin certain aspects of my life... but I also feel encouraged, the Lord answered me and this shows me that He is patient and merciful and wants to work with me to get through this. Lord, help me to overcome laziness and tardiness... Sodom & Gomorrah were wealthy, but failed to build-up the poor.__ __ Sodom was 'well-watered', volcanic soil. The Bible says ‘Like the garden of the Lord (Eden)". With little effort, the people of Sodom would say, get twelve, fat, ears of corn per stalk, while elsewhere farmers got two, thin, ears per stalk with a lot more work. Sodom had oil & tar pits; giving them oil for their oil-lamps and fuel for heat and cooking. Before the Babylonians systematically cut-down all the forests of Israel, and plugged the springs; and before God turned Sodom into a valley of salt; Israel had large, dense, forests, full of wildlife. Thus, Sodom had trees for housing. __ __Ezekiel 16:49 “Behold, this was the guilt of Sodom; she had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy; so, they were haughty and committed abomination (immorality) before me.”__ __This verse implies: If one fails to use some of one's wealth to build-up the poor in your life; that is haughtiness, and haughtiness leads to immorality.__ __”Strengthen the hand of the poor” implies more than a one-time gift, but rather, helping the poor into a position of self-sufficiency.__ __So, Sodom's sin was not idleness from producing wealth, or failing to keep busy. Fullness / abundance of food is not a sin. The sin was having spare-time and wealth, but not using those to strengthen the poor. 'Strengthening' implies pulling the poor up out of need, not to equal wealth, but to respectability.__ __ In Jesus' parable of the Prodigal Son; the brother, who stayed at home and worked, is angry his father restored his sinful, wasteful, brother to equality with him. Sinful human nature does not mind giving the poor a few bucks, if they stay poor and visibly beneath them. Sinful human nature does not want to pull the poor up to an equal level respectability. The sinful rich want to maintain a difference in social rank; they want praise for their wealth and worldly accomplishments by keeping the poor, poor. Both brothers' wealth came from the father. The parable may imply a requirement for the poor person to repent of sins to attain help, and attain restoration of respectability; even though, the parable is about spiritual restoration and forgiveness of sins.

But my mom told me I was lazy my whole life (I don't think she realized she was speaking curses over me) and that didn't help. I have been struggling with laziness, this has resulted to extreme poverty, lack and I am in deep debt. I have put effort to start classes/projects but I am not able to finish. I can't say this as though I'm fully on the other side of it, but I can relate to that, and I know God can help. I remember acutely a while back, maybe a year, year and a half ago, where I was desperately lonely. Like my heart was just crying out for companionship and breaking all at the same time. I cried out to God in my anguish and he gave me peace over my loneliness. Not only did he supernaturally help me with my loneliness, he opened my eyes to the people I already have in my life who I can get closer to and helped me meet some new people. As time went on, through a rather convoluted tale I won't get into, God has changed me to deal with all the things you've mentioned. God worked both in my spirit directly by comforting and convicting me and also by calling me to situations that caused me to grow spiritually and in character. Like I said, I'm far from perfect and I still feel like I could regress back into the person I was if I was willful enough, but my faith is getting stronger and every day that I choose God, the further I am from that person who was depressed, lonely, lazy, and broken. I remember also the self loathing that came from this cycle, if you're there, remember that there is nothing you can do to make God love you less. Your value does not change regardless of what you do. God wants to help you grow because he wants what is best for you, not to make you worthy of him or more valuable. Also know, you are not alone in this struggle. I've been there, and probably many of the people watching this video. I will be praying for you, and I have hope in the Lord that he will see you through this difficulty.

As somebody who has ADHD it’s not the task that’s the problem or being too lazy to do the work, it’s STARTING the task (and staying focused on the one task). Here are some tips that work for me. I make lists and include very short and easy tasks just to get moving and being able to tick a task off the list, which then motivates me to do more. If I’m too overwhelmed with tasks that I can’t even make the list I just make myself get up and do something small - brush my teeth (any time of day) or wash the 2 plates and 2 mugs in the sink. It really needs to be something small to focus on because your brain then gets ‘ready’ and starts thinking rationally what needs to be done and then it’s easy to just go and do it. I set time limits on social media. You can still go on it later but it stops you when scrolling. Some people also say that putting shoes on narrating the next step aloud can be helpful. You will get into a routine and it will become easier. The start is the hardest. Also, pray for help ☺️

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. My laziness came from a lifetime of depression and a sense of hopelessness. In recent years, the Lord has gently brought me back to him, is removing my stoney heart and putting into me a heart of flesh. I had a thought about using our rest time to explore something that really interests us, like a book or a skill we'd like to study (there are many free online platforms that offer courses). You can have health issues and not be able to work and also be lazy. It’s much easier to be lazy when you are already at a disadvantage physically and from fatigue caused my health issues. (I’m taking about ME. I procrastinate. I may not sleep too much. It I sit too much.)

I needed this! I just finished my masters degree but Now going to do my Smart goal for my next career move and def need this video cause I have been slacking! I can’t seem to be motivated on the career I am in right now and just have not been able to get started on all the goals I have in my head! I start but than move on the the next thing! Pray for me! This is an important topic and you covered it well. I don't think my family would describe me as lazy,but I can improve in this area. I have rheumatoid arthritis a very serious autoimmune disease and it makes me lazy and I feel guilty because I’m always tired. It takes so much effort to do tasks. But, I need to exercise. I don’t want my condition to define me. It sucks. I don’t feel motivated at all. The feeling of constant exhaustion sucks.
