@mikemuncy7464 I understand what you're saying. However, I like to keep in mind and heart that we do experience God daily. We have life and walk by the Spirit, experiencing life by the Spirit. We can hold true to God's word and life experiences that do not contradict it. We are using the word experiences subjectively as a negative rather than objectively in that experience can be good. Also, some good and bad life-changing experiences lead people to Christ. Like people who were going to commit suicide, have an abortion, or commit a heinous act but don't and end up saved because they felt compelled toward God in their hearts. Whether they said it was an audible voice in their head or heart, they experienced an excellent, righteous outcome. The problem of a continuist is not always an experiential one. When someone charismatic or reformed walks in error, it may have come about by lousy hermeneutics. I don't consider cessationists and those who believe in gifts for today as groups who must either reject or accept experiences. There are valid daily experiences we have in Christ. Some may not be easily explained as long as they don't contradict and submit to the final authority of the Word of God.

If the gifts would no longer be needed or in operation, God would have said something about that.....He didn't, so, they haven't gone anywhere. They were given until the church comes to perfection, since the church hasn't come to perfection yet, they continue to be needed to build up the church. I personally am glad miracles still exist as He healed my literal blindness, so that I could continue to support my family. The biggest miracle He does on a continuing basis is taking a sinful, wretched person and washing them clean and making them part of His family. ❤❤❤

You guys completely ignore the verse you reference. It mentions several things in part not continuing. The ones you don't mention is when Paul says he knows in part how he is seen, but when Christ comes and he is face to face with him, then he will know as he is known. It also states knowledge vanishing away and that we know in part. So let me ask you, cessationist, have you seen Christ face to face? Have you stopped knowing in part? What a contradiction!

First off, the signs were specifically for the Jews, who required a sign from a prophet to prove he was legitimately from God. This is the biggest problem with Charismatics and Pentecostals, they simply don't know the scriptures, particularly the Old Covenant, Paul calls it "the law". If they knew this fact, then they'd understand why the signs, especially tongues, ceased, and that is because the Jews rejected Jesus, and now is the time of the Gentiles. Paul specifically states what will abide after the miraculous gifts ceased. 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” But, go ahead and pretend you speak in tongues, can raise the dead, and on and on, but it's all pretend, all fake, emotionally driven, not real. Tongues speakers have been recorded over and over again, and professionally analyzed to find if they are legitimate languages of earth, and they are not. Tongues in the book of Acts were intelligible, known, understood languages by the people, not a bunch of syllables and consonants repeated over and over again, gibberish. The gifts ceased because they were a sign for the Jews, and when the Jews rejected Jesus as the Messiah, the perfect way, FAITH is what abides. Faith requires NO SIGNS or wonders, as that is what pleases God. The Jews rejected the signs, particularly tongues, as it was prophesied they would. Isaiah 28:11, 12 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. I Cor 1:21, 22 21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 1 Cor 1:21-24 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. Learn what the Bible says, instead of imposing upon it what you want to believe. That's my advice.

Very good presenation. Correct to note the abuses, which is why we need the Gift of Discerning of spirits. The Bible says in John 3 that a person must be Supernaturally Born Again by the Holy Spirit to know the LORD God Almighty Jesus Christ as their personal LORD and Savior. Ephesians 2:8,9 says that Salvation is a Gift, through Faith. Most Cessationists just have head knowledge of Jesus Christ, and have never received the Supernatural Born Again experience. I have read and listened to their nonsense doctrine for years, yet I have never heard one Cessationist talk about thier own personal Supernatural Born Again experience, and that includes The Strange Fire Conference exactly 10 years ago this month!

Had the Cessationists who believe themselves over what Christ is saying in His Word( Which is His Truth, so there is no other form of it) just humble themselves and listen, they would've understood that the only reason we know in part and prophesy in part is because we depend on the Spirit to reveal the other parts. All that is unknown that only the Holy Spirit can reveal. Why did Jesus send us a Helper for? Is it not the Spirit who bestows these gifts amongst the body in Christ? When we cast out demons, (deliver us from evil), when we prophesy,( thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven), when we heal the sick( give us this day, our daily bread), when we raise the dead( forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us). This is all done with the help of the Holy Spirit. Had these cessationist stopped relying on their own knowledge of the Word and relied on only the Spirit of God, they would've been able to understand this whole passage, so when completeness comes ( thy kingdom come, on earth as it in heaven), then there would be no need for use of these gifts because Jesus Himself will be amongst us all when He reigns on earth as prophesied. You can't understand scripture without faith. Your education is not qualification to interpret scripture biblically. Those Divine revelations are only given by the Spirit to those who humble themselves and truly inwardly believe. Nobody is qualified until the blood of Christ qualifies you. It starts with obedience. So humble yourselves all you who doubt the Power of God in present time. In your repentance and silence the Spirit will make known to you all the wisdom you seek and as you freely receive freely give. God never stops speaking just because the Bible is done being physically written. He speaks still to this day even in words not written. Every name written in the Bible is a prophesy in itself. Why? Because it testifies of the One who was, who is, and who is to come. Look up the hebrew meaning of every name and see for yourself. Here's an example; Melchizedek: means in hebrew "My King is Righteousness" All that is written in the Bible is intentional.This is why we need the Holy Spirit. All you have to do is ask and He will give to you generously.

It amazes how some people believe that God has no interest in further dwelling with us and in us, God is our Heavenly Father when we’re in Christ; and His desire is for us to be “one” with Him by His Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not idle, He’s not sitting there “bored” in a corner somewhere…He’s The Same Power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead; and He’s on a mission. This is warfare, and sooo this whole idea that the gifts has ceased, and whatever else that’s out there is to convince Christians we don’t need to bother ourselves with being a powerful bride of Christ; it’s the exact opposite of what God wants us to believe and so no matter how well and “smart” a theologian/scholar sounds; they’re doing the devil’s work because if we close ourselves off from ALL the “supernatural possibilities” that exist in God, then it gives the devil the advantage to be successful in his agenda to steal, kill and destroy; a powerless church is an easy prey. These people who claims such nonsense, is blind, like Saul, who later God changed into “Apostle Paul,” he had the letter but didn’t have The Spirit; it’s The Spirit that gives life, if he was left to his own “fallible wisdom and scholar brain,” he’d be a nobody that no one would know of today BUT GOD had mercy on him.

The context of 1Cor.13 is LOVE. So, the possibility of 'that which is PERFECT' to be LOVE is high. Love never fails. Love is perfect. Now, notice the tense. But, when that which is perfect HAS COME, then that which is in part WILL PASS AWAY. This is in the future coz it is talking about the body of Christ as a whole and not about an individual. The body of Christ is yet to be perfect in love.

I have had the Holy Spirit talk to me in an unexpected manner. I was a Driving Instructor and was taking a young guy on a pretend test. The roads were very quiet and I was getting a bit dozy and distracted (bored maybe). Anyway we were on a main road and needed to turn right (we drive on the left in Australia). There were no cars going in our direction and in the far distance one car coming toward us. Anyway about 100 meters from the intersection where my student was to turn right a voice banged out, "Pay Attention", which I immediately did. You wouldn't believe it the student made the right turn right in front of the only car coming toward us. I of course slammed on the brake avoiding a collision. This begs the question of why didn't the student see this one and only car? WHo knows but he was pretty shook up about it and of course thank the Holy Spirit for waking me up at that moment.

Why is it that people who claim miracles for today have to parse them into several levels and then ridicule all the most humiliating examples? Yes, I agree that Jesus is still merciful and it is merciful not to produce signs of validation that are anathema to faith. Paul did miracles early in his ministry in order to validate himself to the Jews. By the end of his ministry Paul was sick and not healing others. You say that it is easier to bury ourselves in books and libraries than it is to believe that miracles are for today. Nothing could be further from the truth. Proverbs 25:2 - It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

I think we need to know that the word of God says to the point of spiritual gifts is we don’t need pastors, evangelist, teachers, administration, givers, helpers, or any kind of spiritual gift. The reality is a gift is given and only if received can it be used. You can ask for a gift, receive it, and then doubt it because you didn’t think you’d get such a gift. Seminary, theological, or Bible school cannot teach on the spirit. If nothing is done in love then the gifts cannot be received nor can one operate in those gifts. I also don’t like the debates over Paul because it o shadows Jesus which he is the only way to God and in John 17 he prayed for the believes that would come. It’s perfectly okay if believers do not believe in spiritual gifts, I say to them especially is pastor-teachers to close your church, because that is a spiritual gift. When pastors don’t even serve as Jesus did, rather they have the congregation serving them like a celebrity. That is far from what Jesus did. Lastly, stop asking people for their money because that’s a gift, that people are alive and able to work. And the canon was created by men! I can only hope they were led by the Holy Spirit! Is God pleased with all of this? No, obedience, the love and God, the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, who died for every person; sin and disease, and the Holy Spirit is what I will follow. I will not allow the creation to speak for the Creator, God. It’s time to lay before God in humility rather than pride and deception. No one will ever figure out God with intellect, it’s by faith and grace we were saved.

The apolostic gifts does not exist anymore. The Holy Spirit is and has always been the one to give these gifts. They were not only given to certain congregations, if people “asked” for them and not where they given by a human being. The Holy Spirit did not only work these gifts in circles or dark corners hidden from the world as you see in modern times where people claim to have them. What we see now are those of counterfeit gifts given by demonic spirits. Some of these people babble and claim they are speaking in tongues, which is even laughable. It’s a mockery of Satan against our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s no difference then those who are possessed by demons and who can speak in different languages through these demons. If this was the real gift of God, do you think the gift would only be given to those in charismatic circles?-many of those who disobey the instructions of God in even how to use these gifts? For hundreds even thousands of years the gifts ceased to exist until the 1900 when the charismatic movement started and people claimed to have them. And in these same charismatic circles were the most deceptive, evil false prophets that led the multitudes astray. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of self-control, not one of chaos. People who threw themselves onto the floor convulsing and speaking different languages were none other than the demon possessed in scripture. The apolistic gifts are not being reproduced. If they were you would see the blind receive eyesight, the dead being raised again, the amputee receiving their limbs back, the dying being healed, and these these would be immediate and complete healing not like the counterfeit ones you see today. It wouldn’t be happening on stage or dark corner of a church somewhere. It would be a miraculous, nation wide, attention attracting event where ALL would be healed. So don’t be deceived by Vlad, he has no clue what he speaks about. To say the demonic displays people call today the authentic apolistic spiritual gifts is mockery of God’s miracles.

The Bible says that the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing. The anointing has been missing in the body of Christ and that is why we have not seen many signs, wonders and miracles over the years. But I can personally say that Jesus Christ has delivered and healed my family in many ways in 2023. 2024 is the year of Revival. I pray your spiritual eyes open up to this Truth. Mark 6:5 says he could not do might work there except to lay hands on the sick and heal them… in verse 6 it says He marveled because of their unbelief. These two verses are NOT referring to the same thing as a cause and effect. Scripture says he could not do might works but it does not say it was due to their unbelief. Later it says that Jesus marveled at their unbelief but him not able to do mighty work is not because of unbelief but more because they did not welcome him nor asked to be delivered. Verse 11 says, whosoever will not receive you nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet as a testimony against them. This indicated that Jesus could not perform mighty work because they refuse to hear him and refuse to receive him. Obviously might work was done on the sick. If our unbelief could stop Christ from performing miracles, then we are all unsaved and Christianity is a lie. However, you were saved while not believing, your were called while not wanting to hear. But Christ opened your eyes to see and opened your ears to listen to the gospel to be saved. The concept on our unbelief having more power then that of Christ’s power to do miracles is contradictory to scripture. His power is independent from your unbelief. So Mark 6 is in reference to people not wanting to receive nor hear what Christ had to say or teach and not that his power was stopped by our power of unbelief. Please reconsider your theology.

I would encourage the King James, new King James or maybe American standard but not too sure on this last one ASV…. Not all bible translations are reliable. The NLT changes the passage but inputting their own understanding of what a verse means- which then changes the reliability of that version. NLT is not a reliable bible to read but corrupted

Your one of my favorite pastors and teachers and i am the only cessationist at my local church ,And they miss understand me. However i believe you are incorrect about a couple of things. Revelation 19:10 says that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy. So indeed that they are prophesying to the end of the age. What cessationists believe is that no one is prophesying a NEW thing that was given to them personally by God himself. And the part where you said how do we hear the voice of God if he is silent. The bible says that God has the voice of many waters. Revelation 17: 15 says those waters are peoples, multitudes, and languages. So God is still speaking through people all around the world. Which is a form of tongues. So prophesy and tongues have not ceased in a sense. And when Jesus was speaking he said believe me because i do these miracles. Thats because the canon wasnt closed. That was how they tested his words. Now today because of the closed canon we test what people preach by comparing it to the word of God.

Let me preface this question by saying that I am a believer and have been for many, many years. My question is to you and anyone of your listeners.... how many blind people have you personally seen, healed of blindness? How many people have you seen who were actually resurrected from the dead? How many people have you seen who were instantly healed of gross deformities and possibly being paralyzed... I know God has the power to do any of these things. But I'm old and I've been a lot of places and seen a lot of things, as of yet, I have never seen any of the above-mentioned miracles happen. I've seen very faithful and spiritual people from all religious denominations pray for people for certain and different afflictions. I have never seen one person rise from a wheelchair and walk, unless it was done by fake Faith healers.. I'm completely honest in my questions.. as I said above I am a believer and have been since a young age... And it would seem that miracles were for a certain time and a certain reason. Jesus was asked once "who did sin this man or his parents that he was born blind? Jesus basically replied, "Neither, he was born this way so that the power of God could manifest itself through him" ... Can anyone offer any insight?

Yes, the miraculous gifts have ceased. Tongues was a sign to the Jews for instance, it is specifically mentioned as being a sign to the Jews, and it was also prophesied that even with this miraculous sign given to the Jews, that they would NOT believe still. The signs and wonders were for the Jews, because Jews require a sign according to the Old Testament. After the Jews rejected Jesus, the signs ceased. Now remains, faith, hope, love, as the apostle Paul stated would remain. NOBODY TODAY speaks in "tongues" as given by the Holy Spirit, that's a fact. Tons of FAKERS, but none are real, as the gifts have ceased, and NOW we believe by faith. The Charismatic movement is DONE, just like the pre trib rapture fabrication.

Tongues means KNOWN other languages, not random, non intelligible gibberish that are not any known, real world, language. Tongues in the Bible merely mean other LANGUAGES, not gibberish spouted by liars pretending to be filled with the Holy Spirit, that are nonsensical, unintelligible garbage. Tongues and the miraculous gifts ceased BECAUSE the JEWS required signs and wonders in order to verify a message was legitimately from the Lord. That ended by FAITH in the written word after the Jews REJECTED Jesus as Messiah, as I previously clearly, clearly, clearly revealed in God's word.
